Thankyou Tressell1 .
Just received a letter from my local council ( Redditch ) telling me I will not be able
to claim any Housing Benefit unless I go straight for Universal Credit .
What I don't understand is that in 3 days time 16/01 they make no mention of the fact that a disabled person like myself receiving SDP as part of their benefit will not be allowed to claim Universal Credit anyway or not at least until the government puts Transitional cover in place0 -

I hope you will reconsider quitting the forum. Alongside @CockneyRebel and @poppy123456, I find your advice to be the best on this forum.

Hi Tressell
Please can you give the earlier threads on Proof on how to get Housing Benefit
as the earlier threads are missing on this site
You also said I can ask for a certain type of review with my LA
Can you tell me what you said it was called
Many thanks0 -
@Username_removed Just read the discussion you linked to. I agree that it's someone trolling you. A 5 user block limit is strange. The forum admin should be able to change this to any number they want, or remove the limit altogether. I hope that a forum mod such as @Pippa_Scope, might please contact the forum admin, to request that they increase this limit.
It would be very sad if a valued member of the community, felt compelled to leave; when this issue, and others like it going forward, could be easily solved, via the forum admin increasing the block/ignore limit.

Revenues and Benefits state this now:
Those entitled to severe disability premium
It is expected that those entitled to the severe disability premium in existing benefits will also be unable to make UC claims. This was due to be in place by 16 January 2019, but the Regulations have moved forward and may be withdrawn. It is not clear when new regulations will be in place.
I still despair .Someone please tell me when the new Gateway condition
will come into force

The date was announced but nothing was ever put into place. I'm also waiting for the regulations to change so i can move house, but there's nothing any of us can do until they are.

@Username_removed I'm another one that will be sorry to see you leave. You give the best advice here and i know i've said it many times before but i've learnt a lot from you. I wish you'd reconsider but i do understand your reasons for leaving.I know it can't be easy having a disability yourself and helping all those you help with the work you do. I think it's amazing.Text speak is a strange thing and it's very often difficult not to take offense by other people's comments because we misread what the user has written. I missed that comment by that OP otherwise i would have reported it myself.Best wishes and all the best!1

You're absolutely right ! I respect those who respect myself and others but to get respect you first have to give it . I'm glad you clicked my links and I hope you found them useful.
Unfortunately as I have mentioned you reply directly to me so it comes up in my emails. You also have the option of not replying to me as I requested you to do . Lets not forget, I posted in response to the OP of this thread and created my own to ask a question, just after joining in reply to someone going through something almost identical to my situation . I said what I thought and gave an example of my own personal experience and the legislation we have used in court cases and with my LA on both threads and you decided to shoot my comments down in each because it doesn't match your book of facts /opinion?
Defamation , if any at all has come directly as a result of the way you speak to people on here , my statements have just held a mirror to them and I have every right to defend myself against someone who attacks me first out of nowhere on a subject which has nothing to do with them in the first place , and I hope you never have to go through what we are now with our housing issues .
Again , lets leave the legislation used successfully in court to those who know the law and know how to use it in the defence of those of us who need help.
Don't police people and then throw your toys out of the pram and threaten to leave to get sympathy from others , when you attack people first . Others may take that laying down , but I certainly don't !
Its late and I have more important thing things to worry about .
Na Night ! xx1 -
@teejays1617 This is exactly the issue and nothing in place for any one to tell us what to do in this unique situation . We seem to have been given the option to remain on legacy benefits , but have had no safety net put in place for those of us who have fallen through the cracks .
Lets wait for Wednesday and see what news that brings and go from there .
One step at a time .
I know its tough but try not to worry , you are doing everything you can and your being alive, warm ,housed and fed are the most important things at the moment. in the mean time ,please try and have a look through the links and maybe phone the advocacy service I copied a link to just so you have someone on side that can maybe make phone calls on your behalf . May also be worth looking into trying to get a support worker too as they can attend assessments with you , write supporting letters and speak to your LA on your behalf as mine used to do .
Mine was from the organisation SHP and helped me through some of the toughest times of the last two years . Worth seeing if they have one in Redditch too , although they may only be based in London . Again worth having a look .
Wish you all the best ! Keep me updated and I will let you know if I find or hear anything on my side too.
Good night !

Ok , so I get them because of that ... I honestly feel like I'm going back and forth with someone at school , nit picking on things to try and get the upper hand .
Who cares exactly why I get your replies after blocking you . It was a waste of time clearly because you just HAVE to reply.
You said '' The law makes no reference to mandatory reconsideration.''
Which I wasn't talking about and was never mentioned anywhere in the first place , I then included where it ( The ability to request an anytime review ) is in the law as that's what I was talking about .
If I got it wrong , so be it , this is not an exam and I didnt realise i was being graded on my knowledge of law . The important part isn't which part of the law it comes under its telling people there may be a way to get their HB back paid outside the one month deadline . I just know what has worked for me in my two successful cases , one in which I sued my LA and HA and won .
There is no abuse what so ever ,trust me ! I only state my defence in what was said to me ( or replied to on my posts or someone else's thread and my own or what ever you want to say now. ) If you don't like what someone is posting you have the option to just scroll past .
I'm done and I'm tired of this , in the wider scope of my life you're a complete stranger to me who has an opinion on/ in a chat room on the internet so, really who cares! Let's agree to disagree and go on with our lives please on that note ill just say ...
Mike , good luck and good night !0 -
We are now closing this post. We appreciate your comments and as many of you are aware, we're working with our forum developers to improve and expand the 'ignore' list function.
However, in the meantime, personal attacks on other members, regardless of the situation, will not be tolerated here on the community and we'll be getting in touch with individual members to discuss this further. At the end of the day, this is an internet forum. You're not always going to agree with everybody: in these cases, accept that you don't agree and move on.
If you have any further concerns, do feel free to email us at community@scope.org.uk.0
