Lcwra payments

Hello could anyone tell me please: got a note in my journal saying simply you don't need to send any more Fit Notes as you've been put in the LCWRA group.( I had given them a fit note 13 weeks before).Do I need to apply for the extra money to be added to my UC payment or will it just get added in automatically at next assessment period? Thanks.0

Hi and welcome to the community @getthrough
The additional payment will be paid automatically from the 4th month after reporting your medical condition and providing a fit notes0 -
Thanks Jane it's just that they never mentioned any payment, just told me don't need to send more fitnotes because you have been put in LCWRA group; from reading this very useful forum it seemed other people had also, at the same time, received a note in their journal mentioning the payment they'd get because of being put in the LCWRA group. However your reply has reassured me somewhat. Thanks again0

Your welcome
It may be because you had a quick decision and no backpay is due
Did you have a assessment and send in a uc50 form0 -
Well they sent me a form a few weeks back to fill in with my medical info , which I did ( I didn't notice its name..would it have been the UC 50 form?) There was no other assessment, just that form. My fit note , the 13 week one, expired on 21st July but they wrote in my journal on 17th July saying I was now put in LCWRA group. Nothing else. You're very helpful because it's all a bit of a maze finding the way round this type of admin and I've noticed when I ask them a question they often give wrong answers! ?0

Yes that will have been the uc50 form and you will have had a paper based assessment rather than a phone or f2f assessment
You don't need to send any more fit notes as your last one covered you till the decision was made
They often do give wrong information they are outsourced call handler not dwp themselves
Your payment will be paid from 4 full assessment periods from reporting the condition
Just surprised it has all happened so quickly some people have been waiting over a year and not had decision1 -
From that time point of view, I'm lucky ,so..maybe they contacted my doctors who would have told them I've been sick for ages but I didn't know much about applying for benefits, I've no idea, or maybe my prescription meds told them a lot, I don't know .or maybe it just depends if a case is clearcut ..I suppose some illnesses make it impossible to work unfortunately and it's clear cut. Anyway, yes, at least it was quick after the fit note..it was a doctor who actually told me about fit notes, she was shocked that I was trying to get work. Thanks again for your helpful replies, Jane0
