Hi, I am new here. Have been living with complex ptsd for 8 years now, eventually found some great help on nhs, good Dr of psychology with EMDR treatment but was moved to new area, so no support here and now lock down has stretched services further. Am keeping chin up and trying to join in things online but have the technical skills of a cabbage ha ha. I also had aggressive breast cancer recently which i ve done well to beat so far but mental illness makes everything more a challenge. Please come and say hi : )

Hi @Becka12! Welcome to the community
I'm sorry to hear that you lost the great support that you had. I hope that you can find another good doctor to resume your EMDR treatment, and that you have continued success treating your breast cancer.Becka12 said:have the technical skills of a cabbage ha ha.Well, I'm glad you've managed to find us and make your first post!
As @janer1967 said, you might like to have a browse on the Coffee Lounge to connect with other members, and I'd also recommend that you scroll through the Mental Health Issues category on the site to find others who might have had a similar experience.
I hope you're finding your way around the site ok so far? Let us know if you have any specific questions or concerns.0 -
Hi @Becka12 - & welcome to the community. Good for you for such a positive post, & you will find this is is a very friendly & supportive place, so I really hope you enjoy being part of this community. Were you finding the EMDR helpful, or was it too soon to know? It might help other members with CPTSD to know if it was worth finding out about. It's very difficult to find support at the moment, but I wonder if any of the follow charities may be able to help you? Please see:https://emdrassociation.org.uk/ which includes info on online EMDR but unsure if this is available on the NHShttps://www.richmondfellowship.org.uk/ check if this is available in your areaAnyway, it's good to 'meet' you.0
