Cordless Vacuum Choices

Does anyone have a cordless vacuum cleaner to recommend? I'm guessing many on here will due to health conditions making a conventional one difficult.
As with the mattress thread, I've started looking at these and found an overwhelming amount of choice!
Basically I need something that's light, tall enough to use without bending and doesn't require much effort to push around. Also needs to have decent run time from each charge. And needs to clip down a small unit with tubes and brushes suitable for the car.
I'm not looking for anything super cheap, would rather pay a bit more for something better quality.

Dyson do a good range of vacuums but they are expensive.
My parents have one and it is very good.
You can choose how powerful you want the suction and it lasts anywhere from a few mins (if you use the "super" button that makes it suck really powerfully) to an hour depending on how powerful you set it.1 -
I have a Shark one and (in my humble opinion) it is amazing!! Very lightweight, easy to manoeuvre and it lights up so you can get in dark spots. The charge does last a long time too.
On the bad side, it was quite hefty a price to pay upfront but a wise investment hopefully.

Bumping this thread up! We had a separate discussion about this one another thread more recently but I can't find it again!
I decided to go for mains powered instead... But needs to be upright, lightweight and useable for the car etc.
Anyone got one of these? Looks like a good spec and a decent price at that offer?

Oh! I didn't realise there were so many different models of the Shark one.
Maybe this one would be better? NV602UK | Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner | ao.com
Or this one? Shark Anti Hair Wrap Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Powered Lift-Away and TruePet NZ801UKT - Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaners favorable buying at our shop (sharkclean.co.uk)
Whats the difference between that and the other one at £199?

Hi, I have a Shark Rocket (HV320UKT), which must have been discontinued. It's a mains powered 'True Pet lightweight vacuum', so I would imagine similar in suction, but instead of a removable hand held option, came with many tools, & a very long lead.My son bought one online, & said it was so lightweight it would be easy for me to use. He was going to bring his around for me to try, then another one was left for him with a neighbour. So, rather than return it, the decision was made, & I bought the 2nd one!The suction in mine is the best I've come across, (I haven't ever had a cordless), so I do like my Shark vacuum.1

Thanks @chiarieds , I've never used a Shark vacuum but keep seeing positive reviews for them. The lift away seems ideal for my needs too.
I think I've worked out the best one for the price is the AZ950UKT. AZ950UKT | Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner | ao.com
Both of the '900' models come with a larger head which hopefully means quicker cleaning. And the '50' comes with a 1.5 litre collection box rather than the 0.75 litre box on the '10'. I think that's worth the extra £30. (Will also get £16 back from Topcashback). I know the larger capacity will mean it's a little heavier than the cheaper one, but hopefully not by too much. For comparison, my current Henry has a 9 litre bag.
I'll probably buy that one over the weekend, unless anyone can suggest a good reason not to, or a better alternative for the same price.1 -
@OverlyAnxious That is an excellent price for a Shark. Well researched! Let us know how you get on and prepared to be amazed by its suction power

I have a shark they are fab vacuums1

we bee bought one off a shopping channel. And my wife bought a second one refurbished off the internet for half the price of the original one and it got more power. As with all hovers you must keep the filters clean, blown out, I have been lucky until COVID I took my filters to my local Garage and blew the filters out bia monthly what a difference it made.2

Can anyone comment on the weight of the corded Sharks? I'm reading several reviews about them being quite heavy to manoeuvre and that is the main reason I'm needing to change from the Henry.
I've seen Vax make the lightest corded upright at 5KG (compared to 6.6Kg for the Henry, and 7.6Kg for the large capacity Shark!) but have no idea what they're like...reviews appear good but I'm sceptical at that price?

Oh! Scrap that... You have to get down and unclip the hose from the floor head in order to use any attachments on the Vax. What an awful design!

I've had one of the Vax air, which is light but bending down to move the hose can be an issue for some. I believe all vax uprights are the same. Good suction on it though.

I got a Dyson cordless about a year ago and wouldnt go back.
Its suction is great has a boost option but I've never had to use it
It's so much more convenient for me to just use as a hand held for spills etc and the easiest thing in the world to empty...I empty it after each use so capacity isn't an issue, just hold it over the bin and pull the lever...obviously in an ideal world you could try each one out but I really love my Dyson!1 -

I've just seen a corded stick vac from Shark...no bending or batteries, looks like it might be the best option for me?

Must be good as it's out of stock everywhere at the current £179 lol... Found a bundle on AO with a steam mop as well (not entirely sure of it's use!?) for £199, RRP of £349! I doubt that'll be in stock for long so link here if anyone else wants one.

There's one here at the same sale price: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/home-appliances/floorcare/vacuum-cleaners/shark-anti-hair-wrap-with-flexology-hz500uk-bagless-vacuum-cleaner-charcoal-grey-purple-10214034-pdt.html
Tho it says sale ended last month, it's still advertised. It weighs 3.9 kg (mine is 4.3 kg but find it easy to use)

Yes, I got excited seeing the Currys one but... It's not available for delivery and there aren't any at my local store to collect so no food to me. I bought the bundle above anyway. Could even sell the steam mop if I find I have no use for it.0
-
Sorry that wasn't available, but pleased you're trying a Shark.1
