.. sorry also my Assesment was done by Capita originally and it was via telephone. I had made two complaints to them but they didn’t want to take liability which wasn’t a surprise
I asked for the Audio to that they said they didn’t record the conversation it was my word against there’s
not a nice experience0 -

I agree again, the Tribunal panel would have read your case before hand and had the submission from both sides. While it would seem a one sided conversation to you. This is for clarification of points that you, since you are not a qualified person or may have left some thing off by the HP, or you, but was spotted by the panel in your history, would ask you about that.Just answer truthfully since your Medical History will speak for its self.

Hey Sarah my MR got received on 21st June 2021 and was told 10 weeks but it took 11 weeks. Best thing to do get the Decision Maker to call you back I think in my situation it helped a lot as the silly Assessor wrote all sorts of none sense including I go out with my friends to the cinemas and go out. I just questioned the Decision Maker and asked what Cinemas were open in the lockdown and what restaurant were open to dine in and bare in mind my Assesment was done earlier in the year when we were still under lockdown. All the best0

Hey, a massive thanks to everyone who've posted, I had no idea the thread had continued.
I am able to report good news though, I have had my PIP reinstated. I did have my MR turned down even with a letter from my psychiatrist, at which point my contact at benefits advice was able to file my appeal for my, because I'm sure you can imagine I was having huge difficulties functioning.
I'm not sure how long it was, but 2-4 weeks later I received a missed call from a number that my smart phone book identified as DWP, given how low I was at the time I thought it would be about moving over to Universal credit. So I contacted Nick at benefits advice and he said I should call them back and rearrange the missed call and that he suspected it was good news.
As it turned out he was right, I spoke to a very nice lady who explained she had looked at my case and agreed with the appeal and said that she would reinstate my PIP and she also felt since I do have difficulties with getting around and the need support when traveling I was awarded Mobility at the standard rate as well, backdated to 31st Dec 2019. The best bit for me is that I was awarded for a ongoing period and won't have to go through the assessment process as often. I have no words to describe what a relief I felt.
Once again thanks to everyone for taking the time to reply and I wanted to let you all know this chapter had a happy ending.
I have a different problem now about how to go about claiming the 50% rebate on my car tax, but I'll start a new thread for that. It's a issue I'm happy to have with all things considered.

They don't always send a text if successfully awarded. There's more chance if it's a first time claim. Whether they send a text or not, you'll still receive the decision letter.

Ok thank you. Yes is a first time claim I called them few days ago they said I was next in line for them to look at it so maybe have some news anytime soon.0

Ive been awarden PIP the lowest rate in money terms, and the assessment as is usual with many of these reports, is littered with misconceptions. Anyone know as the award is new by doing an MR can they apply zero points and then forced to appeal all the way to tribunal of which i'll fine stressful? any advice would be great.0

Hi @OutOfTheWorld99 - with a MR, the result is often that the award stays the same; there's literally a minimal risk that a MR would lower a current award, but there's hope that it may be increased if you do a MR in writing saying where you feel you should have got points, & why. Put the assessor's report behind you, as that won't help you try to increase your award,First check here to see if you think you could get enough points to increase your award (you need 12 points or more to get the enhanced rate) : https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/asset-library/personal-independence-payment-descriptors-and-scores-april-2023.pdf

Hey @OutOfTheWorld99, sorry to hear your assessment report was just filled with incorrect information. It is something that appears far more than it should.
Chiarieds has already given some good advice, I'm just going to link you to some more information about Mandatory Reconsideration and also Appealing. Let us know how you get on0 -
