Yes,they're very handy come December @Sandy_123.1

I helped someone scan their clubcard from their phone today. I do dislike the pricing system of the clubcard, felt like I was being ripped off everytime I forgot it till I got the app on my phone.
For the self-service tills the trick is to point the QR code on the phone towards the forward facing scanner, while slightly lifting the panel that the upwards facing scanner is on. A Tesco employee showed me once and I now never struggle to get the QR code to scan, and today I managed to pass that information on to someone who was struggling to get it scanned next to me! Felt a little nice, as I know just how frustrating it is.2 -
I still have a physical club card! I don't think I am a luddite, I do embrace technology when it makes life better, but I don't see how faffing around with my phone, putting the passcode in, finding the app, is an improvement over getting my club card out of my wallet.
Then again I still use wired headphones and still prefer a computer with a keyboard and mouse so maybe am a bit behind1 -
@66Mustang
I use a my actual club card I prefer it the only app for shopping deals I have is Asda as they don’t do a card.
@Sandy_123
Hi Sandy how’s you.
I’m waiting on my water bottle for my feet arriving, I’m hoping it comes before I go out, if not they usually leave with my friend next door or just at my door. I’m looking forward to using it 😊
@Teigr
Oh nice one I didn’t know they still done stamps either.

@Sandy_123
Oh that’s a shame, stay in your living room as long as possible tonight or even sleep in there if your rooms to cold.1 -
I'm still refusing to use the 'pretend you work here' checkouts @66Mustang,I don't have a mobile phone either.2

I also prefer wired headphones, I'd lose them all the time otherwise. That is actually the main reason I have the app for the clubcard, I kept forgetting the physical card.
@Sandy_123 I need to check all our radiators for bleeding, one in our living constantly needs bleeding. I think the internals must be starting to rust.
@Ada If you can please do see what the Energy Support can do you for you on Monday. I know sometimes it can get vouchers to help pay for bills.2 -
@Jimm_Scope
Sorry probably should have expanded, I meant that I prefer a PC rather than say a tablet or phone or smart TV - all of which I think are computers(?) - but when I say PC I perhaps wrongly mean a proper tower or laptop with a full size keyboard and external mouse
I couldn't cope with a tablet or even worse a smartphone as my only access to the digital world. My Dad gets on fine with just his iPad and my Mum has two of my old Macs but seems to use her iPhone 99% of the time!

Thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement I have managed to go and get back from Melton.

Glad it went well @Darryl18541

I also couldn't do without my desktop/tower computer. I mean, I also videogame a lot and a tablet/phone just wouldn't be enough! @66Mustang
Glad you managed okay @Darryl1854, maybe do something nice for yourself as a little celebration? It's not easy overcoming that anxiety and you deserve a reward.
@Ada You wouldn't be taking from anyone, it's not a zero sum thing it's okay. You getting support does not mean someone else is going without!3 -
@Jimm_Scope @Ada
I explained the same recently to a relative who has, in their opinion, a "mild" disability.
They refused to claim PIP for many years as they thought they would be denying it to someone more in need.
I explained that it doesn't work that way, there aren't a finite number of "places" available, it's there for anyone who needs it – however many or few.
That said @ada you are very caring thinking of others and I wouldn't want you to think we are trying to take that from you, just want you to think of yourself as well.1 -
Thanks everyone for the nice chats debates and banter today, I am going off now as need a break from the screen and let my brain do nothing for a bit
See you all later this evening or perhaps tomorrow depending on what time I go to bed
Have a good one everyone3 -
I hope yous all have a great night.

Enjoy your night I’m just about ready to be picked up to go and babysit.@Ada
I can tell your a really proud person but your allowed to receive help to. It would help you a lot if you can get vouchers for your heating. 🥰
