Hi everyone, I hope you've all had a nice Friday. I haven't been on here as have been in the car for most of the day. I just had fish and chips at the seaside though and now I'm in my hotel room and going to go to bed soon. We are going to see a family friend tomorrow. They live quite far from us so we are just staying at the hotel for one night, so that we can be up and ready early to spend all day with them tomorrow instead of driving.

As always Sat. is one of my best days of the week. Although i am an avided knitter i go to a knitting group at our local library. We vary in ages and don't only knit some crochet. I have been going there since 2001 and the library staff are really great. They let us use the kitchen to have a cup of tea, biscuits or cake. In fact they have given us a cupboard to put our things in. Quite a number of people come over to see what we are doing. The staff asked me if they could have my e-mail address in case anyone wanted to join. We had a new lady this morning after being in contact with me during the week.0

Hi everyone.
I had a lovely 2 days (well 30 hours) away. We arrived late and went to the seaside on Friday then all day Saturday we went to various places with a family friend. I also bought some goodies from a farm shop
We did go to a care home to meet a relative of theirs with mild dementia and it is an eye opening place. Our relative is pretty good but there are people there who are only a shell of their former selves. Very sad. I think I’d rather go to sleep than go into a home. The staff do their best and definitely earn every penny of their likely minimum wage but it’s just the saddest place I’ve been in ages.
I bought my favourite cheese so looking forward to eating that later.
I hope everyone has a nice Sunday.0 -
Morning all, sounds like you had a fab weekend @66Mustang.0

@Teddybear12 thank you. The cheese is called Baron Bigod - it’s from Suffolk. It’s like Brie but stronger and obviously not French. I also got a goats cheese.

I think I remember you mentioning it before @66Mustang one of your favourites, right? It sounds very nice
I tried sheep's cheese recently and really liked it, that came from Somerset I believe.0
