Teigr said:We had a new bathroom last year @SueHeath,that's left us with two big holes in the kitchen ceiling and the new boiler we had installed in 2021 left us with a host of problems that we're still dealing with.
No,I'd never want a new house;no character.
Yep Hubby used to work on new houses, i wouldn't buy one some of the stories he's told me, with things that have gone wrong, it's a lot of money to spend and i would expect it to be perfect. x0 -
Hope you get out there @66Mustang - whats your weather doing ? we had that much in the night, we got to have some floods some were, we supposed to just have a few isolated showers today, so i'm hoping the forecast is right x1

The toilet leaked @SueHeath and destroyed some of the flooring and the water from an old pipe that had apparently been leaking for months and soaking into a joist got redirected when a piece of bubble wrap was left on top of the joist.
I noticed a wet patch on the kitchen ceiling one night and we had to cut two holes in an attempt to find out where the water was coming from.0 -
Good morning al

We have quite a bit of rain here today.
I prefer older houses as well, and I actually think that they were better built!

@Teigr
We have a dog in the family but it's not mine so I can pick and choose when I want to go for a walk
I compare it to being a grandparent where you can have the children when you want, then when they get annoying you can hand them back1 -
Thanks @janer1967 and @SueHeath, after a seven mile run last night the car started first time this morning. My partner thinks she left the lights on again by mistake, so that explains it. Cardinal rule for drivers , always check you’ve left nothing on when you leave a car.
Hopefully thats the end of the saga, though sometimes a weak battery will behave like this especially in the winter. Fingers crossed all will be well.
hope everyone has a nice nice day today despite the cloudy skies! 🙂0 -
I live in a new build my 2nd one I prefer them tbh apart from lack of storage space . Just easier for me especially now it's social housing and I don't have to worry about maintenance1
-
It's done now @66Mustang,hopefully she'll settle down now.0

@leeCal Glad it worked today. Hopefully it doesn't play up any more. Are you handy with a spanner or do you have to pay a garage for any jobs?
@janer1967 yeah I can understand where you are coming from. We live in a kind of new build (well it was brand new when my parents moved in in the 90s and we still live here) and it is perfectly good. I just think older houses have more character but with that comes more stuff going wrong I guess!!! I would love a thatch roof house but couldn't cope with all the spiders

Morning all. @leecal glad it was the battery in the end
I don't like new builds either @66Mustang, they are so tiny
Everyone busy again0
