I have just got back with a nice watch which is now mended

@C_J still worth having it done, I actually use the air con all year round

@66Mustang glad your watch is ok I've got one that belonged to my grandad and the winder goes round but don't wind the watch up.

My dad said the same that he used the Aircon all year round maybe I should try it.

@C_J is it an automatic watch or solely a manual wind? If it's automatic you can give it a gentle shake for about 20 seconds and it may start up, which will help narrow down what the problem is.

@66Mustang Unfortunately it's just a wind up watch he got it when he was in the army it's a nice watch and sentimental I would say it needs a new spring

@C_J ahh that's a nice thing to have. I think watches are a very sentimental thing especially when passed down. I think you should get it fixed if and when you are able... a good watchmaker will do it sympathetically and I wouldn't think it would be overly expensive.

Thanks @66Mustang it is nice I don't know much about it apart from it an old Sekonda but it's in good condition apart from not winding up. He left it to me with a couple of other things.

I must admit I do like watches and I'm often looking at them.

I look at watches a lot @C_J I really like them as well. I like watching videos of watchmakers repairing old watches, some of them will take a watch that looks fit for the bin and have it looking brand new.

Hi all. I’ve come on here today to ask for advice. My friend has ptsd and probably pmdd. She gets very down for at least two weeks of every month and is talking suicidal thoughts. I’m so worried about her. She has shouted from the rooftops for help and nothing so far has helped her

I do too but she seems to have more going on and I have no idea how to help her x
