I’m currently starting a right of appeal to name a school in my son ehcp, he is in a mainstream and is starting to plateau in learning, the school and I are in agreement that he needs to make the move to a special school, he has autism, global communication delay and sensory behaviour issues, I wanted to know how people’s experience of the tribunal played out, I can’t seem to find examples anywhere in other forums, I want to know if the LA conceded to you or if you went all the way to the tribunal and the process.I did read on special needs jungle website that 95%of cases, parents won, if any could help me, that would be so great.
thank you

Hi @kittypotts and welcome to our online community. It's great to meet you.
I've done a little research myself and there is a real dearth of accounts of people's experiences with the EHCP tribunal. In-fact we had a recent thread in which @andrewluck12 asked the same question.
I'm not sure if you're aware but there are organisations offering specialised advice to help parents/care-givers with the tribunal process. One is the Independent Provider of Special Educational Advice (IPSEA) and they have a tribunal helpline you can call and guidance around appealing to the SEN tribunal. While Contact also have insight into this topic and you can call their freephone helpline on 0808 808 3555.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on.0 -
can I ask how your getting on with this please? currently in the same situation.0
