Pour yourself a brew and chat about (anything).
Apart from negative things about covid!
Then threads get closed ! Hhhmmmmm.
A forum is supposed to be about "discussion"!
Great site,love it! But.
How can anybody discuss anything if censored!
And,i really am open to any and all discussions about anything!

How is it free to discuss if threads get closed if negative comments?
It's a forum!
That means discussion!
Only positive comments allowed?
That's censorship!0 -
Well @gaz1960, there is something I would like to say, to let off steam but it may well not be of interest to anyone else!
Here goes: I hate how poor old Vincent van Gogh's beautiful paintings now sell for millions and yet he lived and died in poverty, experiencing rejection, lack of appreciation and despair.
Well, I want to scream and say that I don't want to experience the same fate!!!!
Now, I'm not saying that my artwork is as brilliant as Vincent's. Our work can't be compared because it is in totally different styles. However, my work is also original, unique and a departure from what is usually perceived as a painting, just like Vincent's work was. I have introduced a new element in my artwork, just as Vincent deviated from the Old Masters style of Art.
Chronic illness and disability have prevented me from completing my Art Project, which has 21 canvasses planned. I am still trying my best to continue and I am keeping my hopes alive that I will recover sufficiently to complete all the canvasses.
As you can imagine though, I am extremely frustrated. For several reasons. Yes, because my ill health is holding me back, because I have no idea how to promote my work (I do not wish to sell my canvasses ever but would like to hold an exhibition once the whole Art Project is completed). And let's face it, even if I were to prove successful, I don't think I've got sufficient years left to enjoy the fruits of my labours.
In the olden days artists had "Patrons". I could sure use some practical support with experience in promoting my artwork but I can't afford to employ anyone with such a role.
Does anyone have any ideas? Or am I as doomed as Vincent?

A very good friend as nuts as Vincent, but i still accept that he is entitled to bring nuts!0

Everyone has their own symbolism of reality!0

My version of reality,is different to someone else! Lol0

Hi @leeCal, I do not wish to sell my paintings!
I need them around me to cheer me up because my artwork is all I'm living for.
I simply wish to have my work recognised and appreciated. I can't organise an exhibition whilst bedbound! And I need to get better in order to complete the project...1 -

Free speech is, and should always be paramount!0 -
@Oxonlady Hmm! I agree, it seems such a shame more people can't enjoy and appreciate your artwork! Do you have a carer that visits who could take some pictures to share online? There might be virtual galleries in which you could display your pieces (happy to do some researching for you!), likewise, I'd love to take a peek myself and see them on our Kaleidoscope thread

I dont do pics! That's a no-no!
