It seems so unfair that my kids can’t get carers allowance cause they’re in full time education still even though they’re over 16 and do everything for me!

    I imagine it's because they will be in receipt of child benefit...
    But someone who knows the answer will be along.

    It's because they are in full time education, as OP says.

    I agree with OP however that the exclusion of young people in this situation seems unfair. Many young adults in full time education could have a weekend or evening job but someone with caring responsibilities may be prevented from doing this.
