Please can somebody give me some advise I have got chronic mechanical back pain and have difficulty sitting up for any length of time, my doctor has given me a sick note but U/C  are insisting I go down for an interview with my advisor, this is making me very stressed and starting to bring on my panic attacks as I have other disabilities as well. Can they force me to do this this considering I have explained the situation and seemed to have u turned from phone appointments.   Thankyou.

Hi and welcome to the community

Dwp class you as a job seeker unless found otherwise through a work capability assessment

Your work coach can insist you attend but also they can use their discretion and have phone appts . It's the luck of the draw but mention you would like a reasonable adjustments under the equality act to request phone appt

Your coach should refer you for assessment once you have sent in fit note covering 28 days have you reported your health condition as a change in circumstances on your uc journal

They've been asking people to attend their local job centre for quite a few months now. It's a work coaches discretion whether they turn off work commiments, so do but others don't.
If you haven't reported a change of circumstances and reported the health condition, this maybe why you haven't been referred yet. Go to your journal and "report a change of circumstances" then you'll see a list of things you need to tell them about. On that list will be "health" so report it there.
Once you're referred you will receive a letter onto your journal and then the form will be sent to you in the post a few days later.
