Hi everyone
I wondering if anyone here who may be a disable or have mobility issue, or even able bodied, but have problems when you getting in a Hackney taxi (ie black cab or wheelchair adapted) vehicles with ramps due to their limited mobility for whatever reason it may be. The reason for asking everyone is because All council ie greater Manchester (Wigan) will be fazing out mix fleets hackney taxi such as the ordinary cars we use to get into instead of the wheelchair adapted vehicles due to excess difficulties. This has already began in lots of council areas.
should Anyone who has issues accessing these types of hackney vehicles will have to ensure you make alternative arrangements as the councils feel they are not discriminating against these groups of people even though it is evident it is discrimination. Should you encounter problems like this , find out how you feel and direct your concerns to local Licencing department and if nothing changes report to the newspapers because this will effect someone you know or yourself and this needs to be brought to everyone attention

Hello @zuber786 and welcome to the community
Thank you for raising this important issue on the community, of course it's really important that any form of transport be made as accessible as possible.
This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m sure you’ll find it to be a positive outlet, feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 A few notable pages I’d recommend visiting would be:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
