Good news @Siwheels73 will you be having a shower instead of a bath?0
-
Great news finally you can have a bath like you wanted yopee0
-
@Sandy_123, no, we are having a bath instead of a shower, with a bath lift.0
-
Be good when it's done, I've got a walk in shower, I do miss having baths but it's not practicle for me.0
-
Thanks, @Sandy_123. We have found a way of making it work for us but it has been one HELL of a battle over 18 months.0
-
Yeah nothing get resolved with out a fight. You can relax now and hopefully work starts soon0
-
That's great news @Siwheels73 x0
-
Great news @Siwheels73! Well done for sticking with it I hope that you're feeling more positive now.0
-
That's lovely news @Siwheels73 I'm so pleased for you and @Az_Ali, and what a relief after so much hard work0
-
Today we had 2 Surveyors and an OT in our flat today to discuss the technical requirements of putting our bath in! The Council have agreed more works than we thought, which after the problems is amazing! One more meeting with the contractor and then, I think, we can start ordering. About time too!1
-
Hope it all happens soon for you0
-
Fantastic @Siwheels73 I'm excited for you I'm sure you'll keep us updated as well!0
-
It's been an epic, nightmarish experience @Alex_Scope! We have found it frustrating as anything, especially the Council interactions that have done NOTHING helpful without months of badgering. We have had to prove a medical need which was dismissed by Council officers with no understanding of our reasoning or disabilities, and their implications.0
-
This sounds really frustrating @Siwheels73. I can hear how you do not feel heard by the Council and how it has been like a battle.
Would anything, in particular, make things feel more manageable for you at the moment - other than the Council listening, of course?
We are here for you and listening to you. Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to help0 -
Great news that you have managed to move forward with some type of satisfaction. I always wonder with things like this that the likes of the council keep delaying and blocking so that we just give up. Its such a shame that we get ground down by these people and they get away with it making it just as difficukt for the next disabled person comes along. Showing ablism still has power.0

@L_Volunteer, had a meeting with the Contractor and Council Surveyor today. The building work SHOULD be going ahead in December.Am planning to rounding off this prolonged situation with an email to the Legal Department at the Council - who I WILL name on here, when the work is done, to tell them what they could, and should have done better!
As for it being frustrating - undeniably, but it has also been a bit of a game, and an education about the rules the council play by.0 -
Its good you've got a date it's a shame it's in December tho0
-
Every day is a day closer @Siwheels73 I'm sorry to hear how frustrating the process has been overall, and I can't wait to hear an update once work starts in earnest0
-
We have a date for our bath going in, or at least a start date! 28th November, so slightly earlier than we had thought, but still good! Sorry if people are getting board hearing me witter on!0
-
Oh good news @Siwheels73 not long now then0
