Hi there i know how you feel you are not alone i have had a similar experience to the lady on the website i suffer with Anxiety Depression ADHD and Autism and back in April 2022 I had to go to my doctors to get a fit note due to finding attending the job centre every two weeks to stressful he issued it to me for 3 months so i had to update it on my universal credit account I have had to complain to universal credit to on my online journal because my work coach doesn't seem to be taking my health conditions into consideration she keeps ringing me like every two weeks and ive explained everything to her she doesn't seem to be listening to me or my doctors advice she is stressing me out im worried it will push me over the edge because i am feeling very suicidal the system is very unfair they just wont leave you alone when your not well they dont care at all about your needs I made a another complaint yesterday and told them that a two week phone appointment is to soon for me i even told them i have a alcohol dependence to I had a depressing day yesterday due to my appointment yesterday I just want them to let me recover and get better on my own I cant believe this is how they treat the disabled people its not right at all its only going to make us all feel worse about our self's i am sick of it being called every two weeks and they still expect me to look for work and I told them i am not well enough to take part in these appointments and that i missus alcohol why cant they just listen and leave us alone they think a fit note is not enough these people make me sick expecting us to look for work when we are not in the right mind set its so ridiculous the system they are going to keep harassing me every two weeks with phone call appointments no matter what I am waiting on a work capability assessment i only sent the questionnaire of the other day so hopefully once i get that they wont keep harassing me with work search appointments I tried to claim pip put they scored me 0 points on every activity which was wrong of them because I had been on the old system disability living allowance before so really i am entitled to pip i made a mandatory reconsideration sent of more evidence but there decision couldn't be changed so i made a appeal hopefully i win the case universal credit is not suitable for people with disabilities and health conditions its more harm than good its a very stressful system they never leave you alone they come across as nice but they are only doing that to try and get you off there books the system i agree is a joke if someone has a fit note they shouldn't be harassing them with phone call appointments every two weeks its wrong of them they should just leave us alone to get better I might get my doctor to write a letter to them to tell them to not keep harassing me with appointments otherwise it will make my mental health worser. Help what do i do

I believe that UC treat you as a job seeker regardless of a fit note until you have had a WCA to decide whether you are unfit for work.Have you declared a health condition and uploaded your fit note? Edit - I read you sent off the forms so guessing you did this.I do believe your work coach has the ability to turn off work conmitements at their discretion, have you asked?0

Hi I reported that in my UC that i have a health condition or disability that effects my ability to look for work they said in the next appointment that if my health condition is the same they will turn of the job search and commitments until l I have had a work capability assessment with them see what my outcome is it will take a few months to get a medical assessment I sent of my medical evidence in the mean time im having to attend my doctors every 3 months to get a new fit note every time it is stressful being on UC they are treating me still like im a job seeker but i told them i cant do what they are telling me to do0

Hello @Rhiannon1996
Welcome to the community, and thank you for speaking so openly and honestly about how you feel and what you have been going through, it sounds really challenging but I hope that you find the community to be a positive outlet for you.
I am quite concerned by some of the details you mentioned in your post, so I have sent you an email from community@scope.org.uk to see if we can support you at all, so keep an eye out for thatI hope to see you getting involved more around the community. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 A few notable pages I’d recommend visiting would be:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
