Before making the decision they are supposed to look at all evidence you sent, including the form and the assessment report. They do mostly go with the recommendations in the report but not always.
I’m just worried because the assessor contradicted himself on every question! Because I can do certain things without prompting but still being supervised on my good days (3 out of 7 days a week average) he gave me 0 points! I thought it was how it affects my life on the majority of days? I’m so frustrated

I hear you are feeling worried @ccollo21. It sounds difficult that you are feeling worried and frustrated.

Unfortunately, this is not an area of my expertise though. This means I can only hope people with more knowledge and experience in this area are able to respond to you soon.

In the meantime, I just wanted to reach out to send you virtual hugs. Is there anything which usually helps you when you are feeling worried and frustrated? We are here for you  :)

Little update as I know it’s been a while. I contacted capita to complain, the complaint was sent to senior management who agreed the report was inconsistent and ‘not fit for purpose’ so they called it back from DWP. Capita agreed I had been scored wrongly and my medication and medical records were incorrect even though the assessor had both my application and also my evidence infront of him. The report has been reworked by senior managers and today it’s been sent back to DWP. I called DWP to request a copy and asked them to check the one they received today wasn’t a duplicate of the original and the lady said there had indeed been some changes made compared to the original. Waiting on the report to come in the post now, fingers crossed for a speedy and positive decision x

When counting do you include weekends?

Please be aware that someone else’s timescale may not help you because everyone’s case is different. The guide is anything up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer.

Small update- still waiting on the new report copy coming in the post, contacted PIP yesterday and they said waiting times from them getting the assessment report is 4 weeks currently; so I should hopefully have a decision by mid July

4 weeks for a decision after they receive the assessment report is very optimistic. It's more like up to 12 weeks. When ringing PIP you're speaking to someone from a call centre, who will have no idea of timescales.

Most currently are actually only taking 2 weeks, I’m in support groups on Facebook and 90% of members are getting decisions in 2 weeks

Thankyou @Biblioklept! I’m not too bothered about the long wait for a decision I’m just getting really anxious about seeing the new reworked report, feel like everyday all day I’m waiting for the postman to show up! Sending my anxiety into overdrive

If you follow the same path as my son…you should be getting back pay into your account very soon….he got the ‘you have been awarded’ text on Tuesday this week….then money paid into his account 2 days later on Thursday….. can’t quite work out what he’s got….he applied 4.1.22 and got just under 2.5k back pay….. but the award letter should arrive soon to clarify….hope you get your back pay soon

I’ve not yet had a decision, I’m waiting for my updated assessment report to come through in the post & then it’s the long wait for a decision that continues…I applied 28.3.22

    Which was unusually fast.
