Hi all. Letter received from DWP today, not my report unusually though. They sent it Tuesday & the report Wednesday so hopefully Monday report comes. Any idea how long I’ll be waiting after this letter?

‘We now have all the information we need to decide if we can award you PIP’

I never got this letter last time after my original report, but this was sent the day after they received my new updated one.

    Thanks

My son got this letter this week...the day after he got back pay into bank ...2 days later ( today,) he got the award letter
..... it all seems to be happening so much quicker than when I applied on 2020...and much more communication ....he's had 5 texts and 2 letters before the actual award... just to say where dwp were up to with the decision / reports etc

Glad his outcome was good. What did he get awarded for if you don’t mind me asking? Was it similar to me? These are the texts I’ve had so far and then just the one letter today

I Sri sent change ln circumstances in November last year and only got a 20 minute call just 3 weeks back so 6 months after sending it. I was asked about the last time I left my house and I said 6 months ago because of my agoraphobia. I didn’t get asked how it effected me and after the call I got very anxious because she didn’t know that it took me 2 hours in all to go to my chemist and back due to anxiety panic attacks etc so I phoned pip back and made sure I told them that I was not asked about the effects on me with the journey and they kindly made a note for the decision maker otherwise It wouldn’t have been a fair evaluation. I am still waiting for a decision. I should have scored 12 on mobility alone last time and I didn’t. I didn’t realise I would have to wait 6 months but I know that dwp are busy. I just hope that I get the right decision this time

Update all- I got the text yesterday saying I’ve been awarded. Rang the automatic line and looks like I’ve only been given standard daily living, so MR will be sent off to have it relooked at once decision letter arrives.

Thanks for sharing your update with us @ccollo21. It sounds really positive that you have been awarded. How are you feeling about it?

Though, it sounds tough that you've only been given standard living, especially as it doesn't seem to reflect your situation.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to help  :)

Hi, How did you go about complaining to the assessors? I have just been awarded 2 points but a lot of the information in the decision is incorrect and the opposite of what I told the assessor. E.G it’s says I don’t take medication every day, have no specialist mental health support and can follow the route of a journey. The only journey I can make is 1/2 mile in a straight line to the supermarket to run in and out for emergency items. My husband comes with me if we need a full shop. I explained all this and the fact that my husband has to sometimes chnage his work hours to assist me in the morning.
I will be calling tomorrow for a copy of the report, it’s either that the report is not a reflection of the call or the DM has overridden what the report says.

To put a complaint in about the assessment report you can look on the assessment providers website and there will be information on there.
Some of the reasons you've been given for no points awarded are classic copy and paste reasons.
Are you aware that the assessment process isn't there for them to write down what you said verbatim, if it was then there would be no point in having the assessment. It's for them to gather more evidence to support your claim. They then write the report, which is their opinions based on what you said in the form, the other evidence you sent and what you said during the assessment.
You now have 1 month to request the MR but you don't need the assessment report to request this. Very often having the report can cause a distraction and can lead to you putting in too much concentration on what was said in the report.
What you should do is put the request in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. Include a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you. Add detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.
The most likely outcome will be the decision will remain the same. If it does then it's Tribunal.

So I had my assessment 20th june received my report today when I’ve read it’s only given me 6pts but on one question they scored me then basically dropped the points to 0 points when they originally gave me 3pts for that question and the reason been is because I’m sole carer of my daughter and she is well kept meaning clean etc told them that my eldest daughter does help with my 4year old … sorry if I’ve not explained it in a best way but can someone tell me how I can go about changing that I’ve not yet had my decision letter this is for mental health and my anxiety is through the roof

They don't actually score you any points as such in the report, it's a recommendation only. Only a decision maker can score you points. Whilst they mostly go with the report, it has been known for them to go against it.

You can try ringing PIP tomorrow to ask if a decision maker can ring you before making the decision. If they do ring then this will be your chance to put your point across. It's not guarateed that they will ring though so please be aware of that.

Once the decision is made if you're not happy you can request the Mandatory Reconsideration.

The waiting does sound really difficult and anxiety-provoking @shelby40. Is there anything that might help to reduce your anxiety at the moment or anything which usually helps you when you are feeling anxious? Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to help  :)
