My youngest daughter was killed in a RTA at age of 21. At same time going through menopause, my pain is constant in joints and muscles. Gp has suggested Chronic Fatigue/M.E  councillors suggested Fibromyalgia yet nothing being done.

Hi @Elsiemae welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry to read about your daughter, that must of been really hard for you.  With all the medical problems your having, i would go back to your gp and try to get answers from them as to what they can try to do to help you with those.

I've same problem at my GP and they don't take very detailed notes from appointments so it's like starting from scratch every time I see one!

Morning @Elsiemae I am so sorry to hear about you losing your daughter.
Some of us ladies do get lots more pains in our joints and muscles with the depletion of hormones, saying that i agree that you must keep pestering your Doctors they will finally take you serious.
On another thought has your health service got a menopause clinic.

    Hello @Elsiemae,
I'm so sorry for your loss.  I'm also sorry that your GP also appears not to be very understanding of your menopausal symptoms and other conditions.  Have you asked to be referred to a specialist so your conditions can be investigated more thoroughly ?

Are you able to share a bit of background information about yourself ? Does the affect of your health conditions on you mean that you are struggling to hold down a job and/ or are you wanting information regarding  which benefits might be available to you and, if so, you might find this information helpful :-

Thank you to all. Before losing my daughter I had no health issues, I have been referred to a menopausal clinic 4wks ago (still waiting for appt). Do keep trying with gp but their reply is change meds.

Did they tell you how long it could be to wait for appointment? 4 weeks with no contact would worry me.

Hello @Elsiemae, I do hope you don't have to wait too much longer for your  appointment at the menopause clinic.  Unfortunately, many women are experiencing difficulties in accessing menopause care with some facing challenges in not having their symptoms understood and taken seriously and difficulties actually accessing HRT.  I wonder too if your GP is packing up your grief and reaction to your daughter's death and perhaps attributing it to menopause symptoms.  How do you feel about this ? Do you feel you need more support regarding this or is this something you don't feel ready to deal with at the moment.

Hi Personally I think GPs can't be bothered with women suffering with menopausal problems, all they do is 'oh we'll try this medication' sadly it not what we need. All women need answers.  Yes my pain in joints muscles and feeling exhausted could be part of losing my daughter, but again Try this medication

Do you mind me asking what kind of answers you're looking for from GPs @Elsiemae? It can be difficult when you don't feel heard or understood.
