LCWRA Tribunal was very hard and emotional

Hi @Gcloud
Have you heard back from Citizens Advice. I think their support would be really useful to you at this time. Even if you have not heard back you could still write to HMCTS and request a Statement of Reasons of the tribunal's decision although I appreciate that you may feel very deflated and upset and not want to do anything. This is completely understandable. As I said previously, you have one month from the date of the Tribunal decision to request a Statement of Reasons from HMCTS. This time period is a strict one. It might be sensible to request the Statement of Reasons now even though you may decide subsequently not to go down this route. It may be that your health conditions have deteriorated and that the appeal process itself has impacted on your mental health. If your health conditions have changed Citizens Advice may be able to help you if you felt you wanted to reapply for LCWRA again.
Good luck and take care0 -
@Ross_Scope - Things are tough thoughts are all over the place this whole thing has really destroyed any last shred of life I had. made to feel bad that I had transport that i rarely used and it was the only way I could leave the house. i'm going to be getting rid of that as now my panic attacks are happening in safe areas.
@Sue_Scope - thank you and yes i spoke with the CA and have had some contact to try guide me from this terrible hole im in. everything got worse since all this started i wish i never knew there was LCWRA0 -
Thanks for your response @Gcloud. You have shown so much strength in sharing this with us.
I am hearing you say it has really destroyed any last shred of life you had. Would you feel comfortable sharing a little more with us about what this currently looks like for you?
We are here for you if you would like to share more with us or consider what usually helps you when you feel this way. Sending you hugs too.
It sounds really positive that you have spoken with the CA and have had some contact to try and guide you from this terrible hole you are in. How are you feeling now that you have spoken to the CA?
Please feel free to keep us in the loop with how you are doing. We are all here for you and you don't have to go through this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to0 -
@L_Volunteer its just all been so much and all my "safe" areas are no longer safe. I feel more worthless after the question's asked at my tribunal and my answers just really opened up how bad i am if that makes sense. they deemed me LCW which may require some work related activity but in 2 years of this ive done none and my coaches know i cant do anything and thats just got worse. my bubble has got smaller and smaller i feel ive lost my sense of living due to this anxiety and other symptoms. even going a short distance trigger panic now and i used to be able to get out in my car even for a short time but now its just impossible.

It sounds really tough that your "safe" areas are no longer safe @Gcloud. Do you want to tell us more about what a safe area looks like for you?
I can hear how this was made worse by feeling more worthless after the questions asked at the tribunal. It does make sense, but you are worth much more than your answers. Finding answers on the spot can be really difficult.
In all honesty, this isn't an area of my expertise. This means I can only hope someone with more knowledge and experience in this area is able to respond to you and provide you with more targeted support soon.
However, in the meantime, I just want to highlight that you have clearly been through a lot recently, bless you. Is there any way you might be able to challenge or appeal the decision - especially if your coaches know you struggle to do those things?
I can hear how all of this and your mental health difficulties (particularly anxiety and other symptoms) at the same time are meaning you are struggling at the moment. Is there anything which might help this to feel more manageable for you at the moment? We are listening.
Some other resources which might be able to help if you are wanting support with your anxiety include:

Hi @Gcloud try and stay strong and I am sure that Citizens Advice will do everything they can to help you. Unfortunately sometimes we cant do anything about a decision we disagree with and think is unfair but Citizens Advice should be able to go through this with you and explain your options. I can only begin to try to understand how hard you are finding this but as @L_Volunteer says we are here for you. Take care Sue0

@Gcloud
When you receive the statement of reason. Find where the Judge make a comment without referring to any evidence or made reference to the evidence that you knew nothing about.0 -
@L_Volunteer I really apricate that and i have been reaching out for help from many sources its very scary to talk about how bad things are getting.
@Sue_Scope Thank you for kind words, I've contacted CA and will discuss next steps but they are so busy I have to wait unfortunately.
@AndrewHall I don't know what this will do and I'm so scared to ask for the reasons. it was so horrible to sit there and almost feel like I was lying to them. or their sarcastic way of saying "oh you have agoraphobia but u managed to go to hospital for appointments". I could tell the way the were walking that I was backed into a corner. I cant leave the house at all now.0 -

For the Statement of reasons you need to contact HMCTS but time isn't on your side, so if you don't hear from CA soon then you should just go ahead and request them. You can do this through email. An expert, would be someone from an advice agency. If you can tell them exactly how your conditions affect you, they will be able to tell you whether you would qualify for LCWRA. It's extremely difficult to advise on any internet forum because we don't know anything about your conditions and how you're affected.0

As for advice agency? is that like Citizens advice? I know my claim was only taken forward as the CA thought that I would have a really good chance of LCWRA. any other advice places would be appriecated0 -
Yes CA is an advice agency. Though past experience of them for myself hasn't been great. Welfare rights or a law centre would be good. See link and put your postcode in then drop the box doe to "welfare benefits" and it will tell you what's local to you. https://advicelocal.uk/
