Hello Everyone, I am hoping to find Advice and Support for my Disabilities, my Rights due to the Ongoing Domestic Abuse I have suffered for 40 years (My Father = Abuser).
I have been Severely-Chronically Ill for the last 12 Years - ME / Fibromyalgia / Severe Depression & Anxiety / Chronic Pain and Chronic Fatigue / IBS / Gastritis / etc, etc! I have been trying to get Help and Support for the last 12 Years!! I am STILL stuck here and STILL ill.  I have spent YEARS looking for Help and Support BUT I am STILL Trapped in this situation that just continues to make me ill-er and ill-er. I am stuck in East Sussex and have been ignored by EVERYONE I have approached for help... I think I am also on the Autistic Spectrum and have inherited (Late-Onset) Dyspraxia.  I just need help and I REALLY hope that this Scope Community & the Organisation will actually help me... ANY Advice is appreciated and ANY ongoing support is too. Thanks

Hi Teddybear12 & Sandy_123, I live in a location that seems to be a complete Blind-Spot for help & support ESP. for Domestic Abuse sufferers.  I wanted to move out of this area completely and find somewhere to live (private rent if possible) in another county miles away - one to get away from my abusive father and two to be able to access Medical Care and Therapies so that I can try(!) to get a bit better... being here for almost 10 years has meant that my already poor mental and physical health has gotten much much worse AND I struggle to even get out of bed due to how 'broken' my mind and body are.  I believe I have Complex PTSD but have no way of accessing an assessment, I also believe I have Late-Onset Dyspraxia (inherited from my Abusive Father) but it did not 'show' until my mid-twenties when I suffered even more stress, trauma and disruption to my life.  I can't do anything with speed, I can't think fast, I can't remember fast, I can't do tasks fast, I can't be the 'fast' person I used to be :( I just want to be happy and safe and have access to the best health care available - the only way that can happen is if I can re-locate, but the MPs / GPs / Citizen's Advice / Local Council and Directors WON'T help me escape... I cannot count the amount of times I have approached someone for help and then just been ignored... I was even accused by the local Director of Adult Care of "not mentioning the Abuse" in an appt. I had when I first had to move back here - despite Email evidence!! I just feel TRAPPED :( thx

Hi Alchemist, I’m a fellow fybromygelia, CFS and all the delights it brings and some of the problems the meds bring too. Most hospitals will have a support group, nothing to do with hospital but people who have fibro issues meet up and share experiences over coffee.

Im sure you will get lots of help here but I know a fair bit about the law, my sons at Uni now studying it. Well I think he occasionally studies! I also had abusive parents and was shown how to ‘detach with love’. I simply couldn’t have them in my life any more, the stress it brought made flare up after flare up. I simply can’t have toxic people in my

You must be in a very frustrating and fearful state at the moment but have faith that it can and will change and you will be able to build a new life for yourself. Look after yourself such as eating properly, gentle exercise/movement and not overdoing it which is a temptation. Take it one day at a time or one hour at a time if need be.

I had a GP who didn’t even believe fibro was real. I can still remember how aloof and condescending he was. So he got the boot! I am very fortunate to be under the outpatient pain team at my local hospital and have had extensive Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT) from a specialist pain psychologist who works closely with the pain consultant and different physios. It took me many years to get this level of support but I feel blessed to have it now, it’s really turned things around.

Happy to chat anytime if you would like to. You will get through this.
