I seek proper understanding. The time you put in fit notes in most cases tends to be different from the time you make a formal claim. Is it the practice to backdate the three month window to the time fit notes commenced even if at that time LWCRA was not intended?
Looks like DWP uses discretion in that gap.
Specifically, I seek advice on when my award should commence.
Fit note was accepted on the 30th of March 2022 even though I had filled in notice of disability from 2nd March, 2022.
The disability forms were formally submitted on 17th March.
That makes three different paths of commencement:
1. Notice of disability in WC form 2nd March.
2. Disability forms filed in 17th March
2. Fit note 30th March.
When do I expect the first lwcra payment?0 -
Hello @daps and welcome to the community It's lovely to have you aboard.
This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m hopeful that you’ll find it to be a positive outlet. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 I have included below a few of the pages I’d recommend having a look through to get used to things:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
I have moved your discussion over to our Universal Credit category

When you report a change of circumstances to report your health condition you then have 7 days to report a fit note, if you don't do this within that time then the 3 month wait will be delayed. If you're found to have LCWRA once the decision is made when it's paid from will depend on what dates your assessment periods are (or what date you usually receive your money each month)0
