Hello, I have a question about thr cost of living payment that I recieved today. I tried to call the DWP but automated system said that any problems can be adressed after the 31st July.
Today I recieved a payment of £164.06. I presume it is for the cost of living payment however I don't work, haven't for years and do not have savings.
Was wondering if this payment is incorrect?

That is not the cost of living payment because there's no payment for £164.06. When you receive the cost of living payment, next to it will be DWP c o l so you'll know that's it for this.Just because you don't work, this doesn't mean you're not entitled to this payment. As you're claiming LCWRA which is part of UC then you'll receive the first payment of £326 anytime up to 31st July.As you're also claiming PIP you will receive another payment of £150 in Septemeber.Full details here. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/cost-of-living-paymentDoes the payment have any letters or numbers next to it so you can work out what it's for?

Thanks for your reply, I acknowledge the analysis of your reply as being correct, however I continue to question
my eligibility to recieve the cost of living payment because people with disabilities may be exempt. See illustration.Make people on disability benefits eligible for the £650 one off payment.
https://petition.parliament.uk/petition/617425Disabled people should be included alongside carers in the £650 one off payment as part of the Cost of Living support package. We have larger utilities bills and food costs when compared to non-disabled people. We rely on these utilities and food to stay alive.
Whilst the payment that I recieved today was not expected it comes with the following ref code D-25049561 and C-16101279TFR.
Do these references I provide look like those of you who have recieved the Cost of Living Payment?.

Furthermore, I have explored the recent payment of £164.06 today. It was made by a third party and that would demonstrate it was not made by the DWP. Come to think about who could have made this payment I now believe I have won a Consumer Rights Act Appeal for Breach of Contract with Barclays. I'm delighted Barclays agreed with me.
Thanks for your reply on this subject.
I still am unsure if LCWRA Universal Credit will recieve the £326.00 cost of living payment.0 -
You should be @nalec1 as you are claiming Universal Credit (through your LCWRA), so the payment should come through anytime between now and 31st July
I'm glad you've been able to find out about the £164.06 today, it's always a nice feeling to have things straightened out.
Let us know if we can help with anything else in the meantime, and feel free to explore the forum if you'd like as well.

You are making this more complicated than it is. It’s quite simple really if you received a payment for UC with an assessment period ending between 26th April and 25th May then you’ll be entitled to the first payment.
Your PIP award has nothing to do with this payment.0 -

The petition you quoted from in your earlier post is about whether or not people who only get a disability benefit should have been included in the entitlement to £650.0 -
Did you mean to post the above @poppy123456 or is this meant for another thread? As far as I can see the OP's query has been resolved0
