I reported my first sick note 9th June 2023 and have been updating UC with a new one every 28 days since then. My assessment was 1st December, I received knowledge of my entitlement yesterday evening (6th December).
My payment date is 29th every month and split into two payments. A note on my journal explains I will receive an extra £309 from my next AP statement - however the same note informs me of a 3 month wait before LCWRA takes effect.
I don't understand what this means and would appreciate anyone who could break it down as simply as possible for me.
TIA
Therefore your waiting period will be June/July, July/Aug, Aug/Sept… LCWRA starts from AP 23rd Sept to 22nd Oct and first payment will be 29th Oct.LCWRA element increases your maximum UC entitlement by £390.06/month so I don’t know what that £309 is for.If you or a partner were receiving earnings since you reported your health condition and you didn’t previously have the work allowance then you will be owed some more for that.
Money owed will be paid separately and often takes quite a few weeks to pay it.0 -
Hello could someone help me work out when I'll receive my first lcrwra payment
12th February 2024 first sick note (valid for 3Months) filled UC50 sent by post with all medical evidence
08th april2024 awarded lcrwa . without any phone call, or physical assessment as i had strong medical evidence.
UC payments are made on 25th of every month

Hello @askneelam - & welcome to the community. If you provided your fit note on 12 Feb 24, then there's a 3 full month waiting period before the LCWRA element is added, i.e. Feb - Mar, Mar - Apr & Apr - May. This element is due therefore for your assessment period 19 May - 18 Jun, but as this is paid in arrears, your first payment of the additional LCWRA element will be 25 Jun.

after i have been awarded lcwra ,do i still need to update my fit note?

The decision letter would have told you that no further fit notes are needed.

Hi - you're welcome. You no longer need to provide a fit note; they're just needed until you get a decision on your WCA, which you've got.

Hi can someone please advise me on when I will receive my lcwra payment please.
My fit note started on the 12th of January and continued until I was awarded lcwra on the 30th of April
My UC is paid in 2 instalments on the 16th and the 30th of each month.. I've had my statement this month after it was awarded and only received my UC amount.
Many thanks

If 12th Jan was the date you provided your first fit note then your waiting period will be.. Feb/March, March/April, April/May.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 9th May to 8th June and first payment will be 16th June. No LCWRA element is owed.

Appreciate the quick reply.
So on the 16th June I will receive my lcwra payment (any backdated?) on the same day that I will receive half of my UC payment? (my UC is split)
Many thanks

16th June will be your first payment. As you receive your payment twice a month then I will assume you will receive half on that date and the other half on 30th. There's no LCWRA element to backdate because it's not paid at all during the waiting period.

@askneelam you were advised earlier in this thread that your first payment would be 25th June. The LCWRA element isn’t paid at all during the waiting period. For this reason you’re not owed any money.
