Yes it did @Tori_Scope, I ended up spending the following 10 years there doing different courses. It really built up my confidence as it was at rock bottom when I first plucked up the courage to go there. It was one of those lightbulb moments, I woke up that morning, got the bus into town and walked into the college. Once there I told them my story and they couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. It was one of the best things that I’ve ever done.0

That's really great to hear @Karen7788 It's always good to hear positive stories! I'm sure the college are thrilled that they've been able to make such an impact on your life.
Do you mind me asking what other kinds of courses you've done?0 -
Hi @Tori_Scope,
I don’t believe I’m saying this but I actually did maths again and ended up with a B
English and got a A*.I did about 4 IT courses, I also did Childcare and Education, A Diploma in Management and Leadership.
The subjects I loved though was Creative Writing, screenplays, poetry, short stories. I even ended upon stage reading some of my work, I was literally shaking with fear but everyone was really supportive and it went down well.The main thing that I learned though was that being myself was ok.0 -
This sounds great to me @Karen7788 what a fantastic thing to do - well done ----------- a very good thing to share to give others the idea - I love it x0

That's really wonderful @Karen7788. Do you have any particular favourite types of stories and poems?0

Sometimes I think factual stories are more interesting than non fiction, especially in the case of history, I love a good historical novel based around facts but I also find that the factual ones are more interesting.
One of my favourite poems is Power of the Dog, by Rudyard Kipling, it’s about how close our relationship is with dogs and as they’re here for just a short while we always end up with a broken heart.There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
Rudyard Kipling
