Hi Alex and Hi bg844 . No I’m really happy to say that i had my assessment via telephone 2 weeks ago (very daunting ) but the assessor was lovely and patient. Ive received a text message this morning saying I’ve been awarded and will receive a letter in two weeks. I’m unsure as yet which component. I had however attempted to get a blue badge but was refused so I’m hoping i get enough points but its that i find a bit confusing. X

Hello @nana25. Really glad you have found the forum. Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us.

It is really positive to hear that you are happy to say that you had your assessment via telephone 2 weeks ago, despite it being very daunting, with an assessor who was lovely and patient. Even better to hear you received a text this morning saying you've been awarded and will receive a letter in two weeks.

I can also hear the uncertainty regarding which component though. How is this making you feel at the moment? I can hear how it would be confusing, especially being refused a blue badge that you had attempted to get. Unfortunately, this is not my area of expertise. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge and experience in this area can respond to you soon.

In the meantime, if we can do anything else to help, please don't hesitate to let us know. We are all here for you and I want you to know that you have been heard  :)

that’s great news @nana25 I had my assessment on the 20 th July 2022 had a text a week after saying they had my report but not heard anything else so don’t think I’ve been awarded anything as people on here that had there assessment around that date have heard if they been awarded so stressful

    Hi @Rosienelly1
Don't assume because you haven't heard yet that you haven't  been successful. Decisions are taking some time to come through even once the assessor has sent their recommendations to the decision maker.
Fingers crossed you get the decision you want.  Keep us posted.

    Hi @nana25
Do let us  know when you get your PIP decision.  To be automatically entitled to a blue badge you need to get 8 points for the moving around activity or 10 points for the planning and following journey activity.

Even if you don't score enough points to be automatically entitled to a blue badge you can still sometimes get a badge if
    • you have long term problems walking or going to places - including problems caused by stress, anxiety or other mental health issues
    • you have severe problems using both your arms
