Awarded lcw on universal credit I have sent a mandatory reconsideration as I can't socialise with anyone including friends or go anywhere on my own. I have just got evidence from my doctor saying that It's very unlikely I will be able to go to any meetings regarding benefits as I have moderately severe anxiety and increasing agoraphobia. I also sent a therapist letter from lets talk. Should this be enough? I never had any good evidence before only sick notes. The waiting is so stressful it don't help I have old and check alot also. Anyone had any success appealing and sending in doctors letters ? Many thanks marc

Letters from a GP aren't the best evidence to send because a GP will rarely know exactly how your conditions affect you. A letter saying it's "very unlikely" doesn't really tell them much at all. Sick/fit notes are not classed as evidence.Have you taken a look at the descriptors for LCWRA? If you haven't then you can see them here. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc/uc-faq/limited-capability-for-work-related-activityYou just need to meet one of those the majority of the time. What is always helpful is giving a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted that descriptor.Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exacetly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were. You should aim for at least half an A4 side of paper per descriptor that appliesThe most likely outcome of the MR will be the decision will remain the same as most do. Timescales are between 2-12 weeks. If the MR decision doesn't change then you can request the Tribunal.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

I completely that the waiting can be stressful, do any favourite things to do to help you feel stressed and more relaxed?
It sounds like your doctor is a good support for you, do you feel like you're getting enough support for managing your mental health day to day?If you haven't already, you can take your mind off things with a browse of the forum whenever you are ready.
