hi after months of waiting a finaly had my pip telephone assessment. was very stressed and emotional. make me sad how they can make someone feel even lower then they already was.. I don't think it went well at all.. the assessment took 2 hours 59 minutes. it was absolutely exhausting. is it normal for an assessment to last that long. are they allowed to do that

Hello there @kazan and thanks for reaching out today, I'm sorry your PIP assessment was so exhausting and stressful as well. Well done for getting through it, that's the hardest part done
A lot of members here are going through similar feelings with their own PIP applications, so you might like to visit our PIP category to share your thoughts. I've also moved this discussion over into it, just to make things easier to access.

Sometimes they can last that long. It's perfectly normal to feel this way after an assessment because no one likes talking about their conditions and how we are affected. They need to ask you those questions so they can gather as much evidence as possible. At this stage it's impossible to predict anything. Once the assessment report is returned to DWP a decision can take between 2-12 weeks.0
