I was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis in March. Had a telephone consultation with the consultant last week and he said 'you need an operation'. I'm interested in talking to people who have this condition and if they manage it without having surgery.

Hi there @Kaye2 and welcome to the community from me as well, thanks for reaching out today.
You might like to visit our Chronic Pain and Pain Management category, as I know we have a few members with spinal stenosis who have posted there.
How are you feeling about the possibility of surgery?

Hi Alex. I'm terrified at the thought of surgery. My anxiety levels are so high just now that I can't even think about it.
I've gone from walking 3-4 miles a every day after work to limping from the door step to the car!! Its so frightening how your life can change almost overnight.0 -
Hello @Kaye2 and welcome to the community
I'm sorry to hear of how high your anxiety levels are at the thought of surgery, although I understand that it can be quite a worrying thing for people. Do you have any specific concerns about the surgery that could perhaps be eased by speaking with your doctor or specialist about it?0
