Silly man. All you need to do is type into Google most smeared politician in History. Or Corbyn Floyed Report. But you won't because you think your right. When in reality you are miles away.0

Be careful @bg844, you`ll be labelled a bad machine like I probably have been by the people in the back roomOn a serious note, thank you. I was considering leaving Scope because I don`t mince my words and have upset (I think I have) people on here, but not intentionally. But because I know other people think the same, I`ll keep my account open.

) my take on tomorrows energy announcement is that they will limit the energy cap to £2500 but still pay out the planned £400 making the increase around £200, depends on how long they will commit to this and what they plan for business re-energy help, but it will mean the govt. stepping in with well in excess of £100 billion which they will have to raise from the money markets, the markets are already spooked and UK ten year bonds are becoming more expensive. The £ also fell to its lowest level against the $ today to $1.14 the lowest level since 1985.
The price we will all pay for intervention in the energy market will be inflation and recession, what we used to call "stagflation" and as a side dish add increased interest rates.
Happy days...notHi woodbine,I don`t dig into it as deep as you seem to do, but what you say makes sense. From my part, I just have a very simple calculation: provide money to ease cost of living = "we`ll get you later". All the money that is going to be "dished out" over the coming months will have to be recovered from somewhere. Truss is saying there will be no windfall tax (for which there are pro`s and con`s), so where will the extra money come from?I`ve read a number of your comments on here, some of which I can relate to. I was a married baby sailor in the 80`s (married 81) and my salary wasn`t fantastic. As you know, interest rates were sky high and inflation was astronomical, so much so we were struggling. A personal invite from our bank manager to attend his office with a theme of "your outgoings are higher than your income" caused a serious rethink on how we did things. From that day forward I only ever carried 1 x 50p in my pocket, some days I spent it, others I didn`t. That helped, we were eventually back in the good books of the bank manager. My point being that the up and coming dark days will be difficult, without a doubt, but I`d also like to think there will also be a silver lining. Time will tell.

It would be a shame to lose you as a memeber. I myself, have appreciated your support many times! for this, i thank you. I can tell you, i've had my fair share of bullying over the years on here.We may have had one or two difference of opinions but that's what a discussion is all about and we are all entitled to our opinions, right?0 -
The biggest shock for me was Theresa Coffey... there are no words that i would choose to use on here to describe my feelings on that one.
