After assessment it can take up to 12 weeks for a decision to be made, sometimes longer. The HCP was correct in reporting your suicidal thoughts to your GP, are you receiving any support for your Mental Health?1

Thank you for your replies. Yes I am receiving medication and in contact with mental health team0

You are welcome @gemma01. It is the very least you deserve.
How are medication and contact with the mental health team going for you at the moment? We are here for you.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to help, even if that is just listening0 -
@L_Volunteer my medication is ok, I find when it’s gone up it helps a little then when I’m used to the dosage it wears off. But with regards to the mental health team I’ve only just been referred to them through my gp so haven’t had much to do with them yet0

Good morning @gemma01 and welcome to the online community.
Unfortunately people are having to wait up to 12 weeks for a decision. You said that you disclosed to the health assessor that you have suicidal thoughts. Are you able to share with us whether these thoughts have been triggered or exacerbated by the the appeal process and are you struggling at the moment? Apart from your mental health team do you have any other support ?
I don't mean to be nosey in asking all these questions but Scope is a supportive forum and we look out for our members. You're welcome to talk about things, and please know that you won't be judged. A large majority of our members have their own lived experience of disability, or else a disabled family, so it is likely that your experiences will resound with them.
If you'd like to have a look at the rest of the forum, you can find all the latest conversations in our recent discussions category, all the different topics in our categories page, and you can meet and chat with other members over in our virtual coffee lounge too.If you are in danger, call 999.
Ring the Samaritans for free on 116 123.
They're always open. You can talk to them about anything. You do not have to wait until you feel in crisis.
If you want to talk to someone about how to get professional help, you can call:
- Mind information line, 0300 123 3393 (open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday)
- Rethink Mental Illness helpline, 0808 801 0525 (open 9.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday)

Take care

Hi guys
ive rang pip today and the man said it states on the computer that pip has been awarded but he said he won’t say which award amount because it didn’t state clearly on there and he didn’t want to get my hopes up. But clearly stated it been awarded. How long does it take to receive a letter/ text and also how long for payment ? Thanks for any help

I'd take that with a little caution. Once a decision is made you should receive a text message as i note you received a text last month. If you haven't received any text message then it's unlikely the decision's been made.

I’ve just received my text this morning stating I’ve been awarded and to wait for my letter such a relief0
-
That is a relief for you @gemma01I'm pleased to hear it, not long before your letter arrives as well. You might even find you receive the money before your letter arrives in the post.
I hope you're able to relax this week, and let us know when you've heard more about your award0
