Sometimes people hear the word 'disabled', and make assumptions or jump to conclusions. Often with no room for nuance.

No two disabled people are the same, and everyone experiences disability differently.

How would you finish this sentence?

'Disabled' does not mean...

Text reads Disabled does not mean with a line afterwards indicating that the sentence should be finished

Thank you to everyone who's contributed so far! It sounds as though many of you have faced misconceptions and negative attitudes.

How does it make you feel when people might assume you're 'stupid', 'fragile', 'inferior', or need to be talked down to?
