I find I still carry the residual shame, hurt and frustration from years of struggle and judgement. -
Being disabled doesn’t mean unworthy of being treated with respect and doesn’t stop us achieving this. We just think outside the box

I prefer the term
mixed-ability disabled has a negative feel to it, it’s like dissing our ability. -
DISABLED does not mean INADEQUATE?

How does it make you feel when people might assume you're 'stupid', 'fragile', 'inferior', or need to be talked down to?How you are treated is a reflection of what that person is with respect to you. Newton’s Third Law: “To every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction” can be reapplied as “To every put down (negativity), there is an equal but opposite negativity in the inflictor for the need to do this”.
As a brain damaged individual living in poverty with a genius level IQ, I was put down, mostly by pretentious middle class idiots who require everything to be handed to them on a plate and think they are so wonderful without really achieving anything, hence the need to undermine others who shine out in different ways. I use Mathematics, Physics, Psychology and the laws of nature to see as much of the truth as I can in things, and won’t let those in charge decide what is right for me as they mostly don’t understand and would probably be more hindrance than help. -
