Wasn’t that another Tory idea ? Waste of an election. We still have Mel stride and sunak

From what understood PIP has always been about how our conditions affect us. Its never even been a sickness benefit./out of work benefit. Will have to see how they are going to change it.

If they link LCWRA and PIP and say you don't get PIP you don't get LCWRA either then I'm gonna be hundreds and hundreds of pounds short on my very basic expenses. And I know I'll be far from alone on this. This was originally the Tory plan btw.

Pushing many people with mental health into work just wont work, labour have rushed these plans and it will end up falling flat on their face at the high court.
Half of them make no sense either
Not long befoire the green paper, will be intresting to see what actualy gets past by law.

I don’t see how they can ‘boot’ people off of PIP . They’ve already been clinically assessed by medical professionals. That’s a non starter IMO. Also how can they reassess folk on long term awards where the condition is not likely to get better or is chronic. Also unlikely to happen. I think it’s people on LCW or those on LCWRA.. who are not on PIP/ ADP that are most at risk. The solution is to get them hosp appointments for any ailments which are temporary or that they apply for PIP. Nefarious aspect is changes to eligibility for new claimants. PIP is notoriously hard to claim and get already. That’s where they hope to skim cash off and also the NEET group of 18-25 year olds. I feel so worried for them because some of them so ill but will be pushed into training or ridiculous jobs?

So will prospective changes come into place at once?, I am on esa and pip with a payment due tomorrow. Do changes have to go through court first?

Stop worrying - nothing will change for months, if not years - this is only speculation anyway
And yes - any changes will have to go through BOTH houses in parliament first

Are they going to be talking about wca changes today ? Seems all pip but what about people who can't work lwcra a lifeline

Yes WCA reforms are in the green paper. The BBC rolling coverage confirmed this about an hour ago.

if what we’ve read in the press is true they intend to only award pip to the most disabled and sick yet they intend more assessments for those not as disabled or sick . Bit of a contradiction. Also this is going to ramp up the power play to the assessors . It’s all up to them how sick we actually are . I have GP letter going back years clearly stating my conditions are chronic and prognosis not good . Yet I still have to fight and have short awards . Because it all depends on luck of who you get for your assessment.

This looks very scary for me.
I receive lower rate mobility and living which appears to be being cut. From what I have heared those on standard rate as myself will loose their benefit where those on top rate will be safe.
With severe Kyphosis, Fybromylagia and severe spinal stenosis among many other problems restrict myself to mobility scooter for transport. This may be the end for me as this will leave me with a life that’s seems less and less worth living.

if this goes to court and possibly the echr how long could that delay it for any idea ?

oh I think I saw that a while ago. I watched her last night on that channel and she didn’t seem overly concerned imo. It may be the way she is though but I’m sure I heard her say she feels better after listening to Nick . No idea who he is or if I heard correctly as I’m hard of hearing

I believe you are the least likely to be impacted because you have visible physical disabilities. Their main target is mental health claimants, ADHD, autism, etc.

Me too, and I am 61

Sorry I don't know how to create a new post but for anyone who is employed in healthcare (nurse/carer etc) and off sick or really struggling, please look at the (Edith) Cavelle Trust. I dont know if it helps for former healthcare workers but is worth checking. It is a very easy/straightforward process online. They helped me a couple of years ago with a grant of 500.00 (not repayable).
Also if you're in a Union, do look to see if they help. The Royal College of Nursing via their 'Lamplight' charity, helped me in a similar way.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Same here , you'd think I was going to the Moon or somewhere with my nerves. This lot, Kendall et al. need a rocket under them, I wish they'd join Musk and Trump and go to Mars.
