That's crazy, so some people get told how long they'll have LCWRA for?

On my letter back in 2019 it doesn't say how long my award is for or when I'll next have a reassessment, it just says 'We may ask you to attend another work capability assessment in the future'.

If they turn you down they wont take LCWRA from you. While I've been on LCWRA I applied for PIP, I was unsuccessful but kept my LCWRA.

Oh wow. Thank you! 😊 That's so good to hear. I honestly think that's the hardest and most important thing any of us can do right now, to just keep us grounded with whatever works for us.

    That's good to know, thanks!

And thanks to others who replied, I'm losing track a bit. I might try and apply and see what happens if I can summon the courage lol

I'd be willing to help give people any pointers if they want to try for PIP.

I'll try to give people pointers if they like as I went through it for first time in about late 2023.

Wow thank you so much for all this info about the process, I really appreciate it so much! I'm going to save and re-read it a few to time to let it sink in and hopefully I'll be able to try to apply.
Did you have your assessment over the phone or face-to-face?

Even mel Stride said it was rushed and that the vunerable would lose out. That it was done because of reeves failed budget. Unions are against it as well

So quick shout out to anyone who's just on UC/ESA support group (sorry forgot the intials, my brain is tired!) or anyone else thinking of daring to apply for PIP. I'd be happy to try to provide some tips/advice having gone through it in 2023. I'm thinking of doing a booklet/document/pdf people could use - if that's something that'd be helpful or of interest to any one?

Just a quick disclaimer - I'm not an expert, far from it, 2023 was my first time applying for PIP ever. But I learnt a lot and found a lot of helpful advice during the whole process.

What is the worse they can do … not give you enough points. Then you can decide to leave it or appeal it. In the meantime you have contributed in flooding their system and after yesterday they really deserve it.

Had the exact same score, despite all of the specialists that deal with me stating otherwise.

DWP are a law unto themselves!

They haven’t changed, don’t worry — the descriptors in the link you posted after this are exactly the same as the current ones. It does look a bit confusing because of how the article lays them out, but it’s just because they’ve only included things that would make you eligible for 4+ points and omitted any under that.

So if you got awarded 4 points on something, and your ability to do it hasn’t changed, then you SHOULD still qualify for 4 points on it on your next review.

The Green paper makes no reference to changing the eligibility criteria x

I'm thinking isn't there that Law group Leigh Day maybe we could all email them to see if they could represent us forum claimants Vs Government or something

They've made a packet from the benefits fiasco - we've kept them busy for years!
