I know it can be confusing, I was the same until I looked into it, it can be even more confusing when stressed out, tired, conflicting comments on here, and in the media. The bottom line is, YES these reforms can be pushed through and fast tracked into legistation, but can still be challenged if deemed to discriminate or breach our human rights, which they no doubt do.
There could be a judicial review if it's passed (unlikely) which would delay it again by months or over a year until heard in court. It could go to the High court, or supreme court of appeal, which could delay by years, which in that time unlikely Labour will be voted in again. Other political parties like maybe Reform or Tories would no doubt have their own welfare reforms, but the same thing would happen again with appeals etc.
Beleive me, there is a long way to go yet, I know we are all in mass panic and under loads of stress, wondering what's going on behind the scenes, if we're being listetend to!! I can assure you we have plenty of support from lots of people who are looking at ways to defeat these cuts, or delay them from happening.

Also people will lose their carers allowance if they look after someone who doesn't get those 4 points and this evil government have already worked that one out.

This was supposed to be the case. My paper assessment was handled by a neurology CNS. When I completed my form, i stated that I took it for granted that I would be assessed by a HCP was experience and expertise in the field. This indicated that I'd fight on and win if the assessment went against me.

You're so right. I've long been convinced that the shift from DLA to PIP served as an advertisement and is at least in part responsible for the rise in claimants.

most abled British people simply don't want to do bricklaying and similar manual jobs. The pay is ****, they offer minimal career progression. Moreover, manual labour jobs will wreck people's bodies and force an early retirement (and given governments keep raising the retirement age, effectively forces people into destitution in their middle age).
The only way ableds, especially British people, will take up apprenticeships like bricklaying is through abuse and coercion.
Stellar, brickies earn a small fortune!!
I don't understand what's so special about British people nor what's wrong with learning a trade? I did and I still have great muscles thank you 💪
I wish I'd been encouraged to take up an apprenticeship straight from school. I wish I hadn't listened to this sort of attitude from my parents.

when we first went over to pip I had all Drs letters including my specialist. Zero points . Plus they tend to downgrade 4 point questions to 2 points . It doesn’t help that I gave invisible conditions ME and fibromyalgia. I even submitted a letter from GP stating my prognosis is not good . Assessor just ignored all letters

I've been having a down day with the benefits cuts today. It's just progressively making me feel so helpless. I've emailed my MP (who is thankfully supportive) and waiting for her response. She did email me a few days ago unprompted expressing her support. I've also written to some articles about it. Just feel this impending doom

Sadly, the social model of disability, often propounded by disabled people and disability charities, enables this political outlook. Disabled people and charities have blamed employers and infrastructure, etc for not working. Thus, governments can focus on "breaking down barriers". But for the most disabled it is the condition itself that is a unremoveable barrier to work.

It is interesting that the governments own claims for Disability Assistance have tripled in 3 years from £175k in 20/21 to £510k in 23/24, an increase of 191%.

Surely a fairer place to start saving money would be to stop running the House of Commons Catering Services at a loss of £7m a year.
Why is it that MPs should only pay £9 for a roast dinner when the average price for a London pub Roast is now £18-£20 - most people on disability would avoid spending the £9 on 1 persons meal.The House of Commons vending machines also make a loss of nearly £100k a year.
