If they go ahead with the green paper it will be THIRD WORLD in society and we will live in a THIRD WORLD country. The country's economy will fall very fast and it may be the end of parliament and the British political system as we know it. Politics of this country will turn tribal with likes of Farage, UKIP, Andrew Tate, Conor McGregor now wanting to run in Ireland. What they are doing is one of the stupidest things and they don't realize it. We saw with Liz Truss what they did with the economy. It does not make sense at all.

Yet, Universal Credit rate going up 1.7%, an extra £6.63 PER MONTH. ILA frozen. How on earth does that even pay for any utility, food increases? Why aren't we getting a 2 .8% increase like them?, not to mention all the perks they get and back handers they take. It's definitely them vs us.

First off, very glad to see this discussion become a new tread with information in the orginal thread. I think a separate forum would be better, because there are so many posts in the previous threads that are triggering vents and not practical advice. It'll be the same here. Not very accessible, ironically enough.
Plus, many people are still posting seperate topics in other subforums.

This isn’t what you’re meaning, but this website is very good. You can search for any MP and it tells you how they’ve voted on things in the past and I think what speeches they’ve made.
Obviously it doesn’t have any info on which MPs support these cuts, but it will show how they’ve voted on welfare matters in the past3 -
Hard agree. It's yet more evidence that Labour was captured by the same neoliberal capitalists that control the Tories.
The silver lining of these cuts is that more people are accepting this reality. The amount of people shocked that a Labour government are pushing these cuts - when evidence about how much those who control Labour hate for disabled people has been online for years - confirms how few people paid attention.

So in other words, most of these MP won't rebel. Perhaps they will if somebody leaks their names.

The UK has already been in freefall for many years, ever since the (long overdue) demise of the British Empire. Political policies post-2008 - including austerity and Brexit - have sped up this inevitable demise.
Labour have already lost the next election. Even if they fully U-turn on austerity and start realigning with the EU again, we won't forget this.

Well I do agree with you but the austerity of 2008 which was calculated to punish the most vulnerable and was bought on by financial crisis will be much different to the proposed green paper on benefits in 2028/9 or whenever it is because:
1) Most businesses were still operating in 2008 2) Town centres were still packed with shops in 2008 3) The councils were not as poor as they are now, many being near bankrupt. 4) The political climate has never been this polarising.
I believe this green paper will bring the whole British political system of over 200 years down. Only question is do they realise this or do they just not care. Its all on this green paper and what they decide to do with it.

Thank you @evelyncourtney very interesting

Scope Mods, I saw this, he made a passionate case.

I'll quote a passage from above.
"Disabled people are not a burden — we are valuable contributors to society when given the opportunity. Companies that employ disabled people thrive and become more profitable. That is a fact. Closing the disability employment gap by just half would inject £17 billion into the UK economy through increased tax revenue and reduced welfare dependency. That too is a fact. The Treasury is fully aware of this, yet it has chosen to back these cuts. That is disgraceful.
Scope’s governing documents make it clear that we are not a political organisation and must remain impartial. I respect this position. However, I have close friends in all three major political parties, and all of them are equally astonished and ashamed by this government’s actions and its loss of moral direction.
By speaking out, I may be asked to step down as Chair of Scope. If that happens, so be it. I stand by my words. If this is to be my final statement in this role, then I am proud that it is on behalf of Scope. Scope is the only organisation unwavering in its commitment to an equal future for disabled people. It is the only organisation tackling the challenges and opportunities that affect the largest minority group in the world.
Sir Robin Millar is chairman of disability equality charity Scope"

Me too, I hope he isn't asked to step down from Scope.

Your dream is right, you have a gift . I've dreamed the same . The old system needs to collapse , so a new one can be reset .

Thanks for sharing, @JasonRAAbsolutely, he makes a passionate case—what a gem of a man! 👏👏 However, I genuinely don’t understand why he felt he might be asked to step down as Chair of Scope. I thought this was exactly what Scope stands for 🤔

Nothing is for certain yet. So we will see what they do with the green paper. I'm just worried the government are not fully understanding disability needs and how it will affect people. Anyone who says wiping out 6bn from the local economy is a positive thing is lying or stupid. I don't think they have any clue what they doing at all.

Same with me, I saw the covid lockdown and restrictions in dreams , I had the dreams in 2012 . I also write them down . When they come true it can freak me out , but then I think how I must be chosen to have such dreams .

There was an interesting article in the Times (a paper I generally wouldn't read because of previous attitudes to autism) about the untapped resource of ND people, from the perspective of why we are being kept down/prevented from working. More of that media and less of the other would be appreciated.
I was thinking about the plan to put the PIP points thing through primary legislation and make it law so it can't be challenged from an equality perspective. But surely even if they did do that, that wouldn't enshrine the particular criteria in law, nor the way in which the points were assigned. There would still, surely, be opportunities to challenge the legality of the criteria, given that putting such limits/requirements would mean discriminating against some disabled people whose conditions are not properly covered in the criteria.
I'm frustrated with the "everyone knows someone who is playing the system" squad, though. Their arguments are copypaste but they don't really make sense.
If they genuinely knew someone that was cheating, and were that outraged about it that they need to rant on social media, you'd think they'd have reported them to the DWP. The fact that official fraud figures are so low means that if they DID report these people, their accusations were proven to be unfounded. If there were that many people playing the system, then the fraud % would be higher. All it shows is the shocking level of disability awareness in the UK, which is the real thing that needs fixing.
The chair throwing is a symptom of the hate being fostered in the press.7 -
I just did the leaked new pip test on benefitsandwork site
I got two scores of 8 points for washing and bathing and preparing a meal.
I bet the DWP won't agree with that.
