Yeah thanks.
I read that on the benefitsandwork site.

All these MPs deserve grassroots protest campaigns targeting them directly. They're openly admitting their support for eugenics and democide of disabled people under the guise of "reforms."
Even before the recent clampdowns, there was always risk of being arrested at protests. Even with the anti-protest laws, the risk is still very low (especially outside of climate and Palestine causes). You'll be fine attending a protest so long as you prepare properly, including knowing the law. Green & Black Cross have some great resources to help.

Counter protestors tend to be the minority. The way to beat them at protests is not only to outnumber them, but also have lots of non disabled allies to keep disabled people safe.

So the Spring statement is going to be on the Parliamentary chanel tomorrow from 12.35

The changes to PIP and ESA / UC
They can't change them retrospectively - ie) for people who receive the benefits at present, because those claimants receive benefits based on the rules at the time that they made their claim….
They can only "move the goalposts" when people put in a fresh claim - so if you receive PIP at present - based on the points entitlement - you will continue to receive PIP until next assessment.
That is how I see it anyway.

Hello all,
I've been reading quietly all this and trying not to let it scare me, but feel like I need to do more.
One of the MP's on that list is actually my local MP!! Do you think it would be an idea for me to start a dialogue with him to show how devastating these changes are?

Hi @stevenh60 that sounds like a really good idea ☺️

Yes I do.
He needs to know how his constituents feel and how devastating any benefit cuts/reforms will be on the disabled community.

the bible is very clear regarding wealth, hoarding wealth etc in many different books and chapters.
Makes me laugh when a rich person, I include the church, mentions a verse of the bible to justify their way of doing things. It’s always taken out of context and dismissing other very important and repetitive ideas of the bible against the hoarding of wealth.
The bible alongside many other religious books it’s full of wisdom that we think that doesn’t apply to us for some reason.

This thread seems to be going off the topic intended.
3 -
Is this now a religous thread???

hence the trend for more 2 year awards at 79% 13% over 2 years and 7% ongoing they were not going to get caught out like they have with the transitional protection scheme putting all benefits onto uc and paying more

Won't it be what Kendall came out with last week in the green paper that hopefully will be watered down over time

hi, so I’m on PIP with extra severe disability top ups (so basically the top level) yet I have only 3 points in several sections-not 4 in any(to be paid for an ‘ongoing period’). Will I be reassessed before the 10 year point (which will be in 8 yrs time)?
I’m also on ESA support group(I’m 62). Will the support group also be reassessed?
Thanks to anyone who can clarify 😘

I don't know until tomorrow.
Its on for an hour and a half so I presume its more than what Kendal said.

This might be of interest to those on ADP in Scotland2 -
I can see two MPs who are fairly local to me, but not my MP. They are newbies.
I'd happily bet my home on the fact they will NEVER be re-elected in those constituencies with this stance.
Still, they'll get their pension for their for however many years Labour hang on to power, so that's okay then. 🙄

Yeh but there's a lot of other stuff so maybe what Kendall said amongst the rest. Hopefully no more stress 🙏
