You look as though you intend to fight back, whatever happens, for as long as it ever takes, the same as me. Neither you or I or anyone else who is disabled should allow them to get away with this outrage.

We must all remember that we are EVERYTHING they are not. I think it takes a unique kind of courage and resilience just to get through each day with our health conditions before we even start on what we have to do to cope with the appalling and completely undeserved treatment that we have to endure.

I actually think that they see our integrity and great determination and gaslight us to try to psychologically beat it out of us. They know that we have the all the qualities they will never be capable of.

We have right on our side and know there are more holes in their argument than a sieve. 😁 I think we can do this from a position of strength 💪 as long as we believe in ourselves and continue to see them for the paper tigers they are.

Nothing about these proposals is genuine but our argument is, however they try to misrepresent us to the public.

We and our advocates are ready for them. They can only completely win if they can demoralise and divide us. There is so much that can be gained, we already know no we can't possibly afford to lose. That MUST spur us on to do whatever we can, whatever they throw at us. 👌

We both really seem to be on the right page, fighting back for us is the ONLY option, as far as we are both concerned. Your courage and determination is really inspiring. There's no doubt about it, WE'VE GOT THIS! 🙌🙌🙌

Of course, we will encourage and support each other but most importantly, to continue to empower other disabled people here who have been pitched into the sheer horror of what will happen to their lives, if these proposals go through.

The biggest challenge is to break through the government's depraved rhetoric on this to give them hope, support them as people and to point them in the right direction for practical support, so they can make a difference too. Hopefully that sort of empowerment will then go on encourage them to help others in the same way. 🤞💪

We do need to fight them and NEVER give up that fight whatever happens!! 😊

I've always thought that I don't know what's worse. Being so badly treated yourself or to see it done to others. I don't think that there is anything between them, they are both just as bad. 🥺

You are absolutely spot on yourself when you say that you didn't want to look back and regret not doing your very best to try to make our situation better. You really have to do your utmost even though success looks so difficult, we owe that much to our future selves.

Such low lives, as in the government, really push the culture of fear, hoping it will crush our spirit, therefore any dissent. They think that we are a push over but I think that they are going to find they have bitten off more than they could chew!! ✊

I know that what you thought of isn't at all likely to happen but it's a great dream to have isn't it! 🤔👌

Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to hold this government to account for their despicable proposals. However, they are making themselves so enormously unpopular with this and in so many other ways with the ordinary people of this country that I think that their Day of Reckoning is GOING to happen and I'm convinced that their fall will be a spectacular one, compared to previous governments.

Their kind seem to have a way of causing a massive backlash by their enemies and they end up getting the situation they most deserve happening to them. Remember, that loss of face and status really matter to the skin deep, like themselves. The only thing is that it always seems to take too long to happen! 🙄

We will see this all through to it's conclusion and way beyond. I'm sure of that. 😊

I take great satisfaction in my ability to keep going, as I've done for years now, as I know that they will hate someone whose disabled being so determined to live life in the best way they can. I know they would really detest it so it gives me a lot of pleasure!! 😁

The aim is to do the exact opposite of what they want us do, I'm sure you'll agree. 😎

It might be a big ask, but will Will individual members be contacted directly if their constituency MP attended the event?
Either way, this is excellent news, and it’s so encouraging to hear that our personal emails are reaching parliamentarians-exactly where they need to go.

I just wanted to thank you for your excellent support in standing up against these cuts…whatever it takes. Your replies to me here, and your touching story in the main Green Paper thread, are so powerful and inspiring.I’ve just read your post in the green paper thread -absolutely brilliant and empowering !

I’m also very grateful for all your kind credits and compliments to me on the Green Paper proposal page. But honestly, I don’t feel I deserve any of them until we win this battle to uphold the rights of all our disabled community, including you, me and all our families and children.

Sorry I haven’t been able to contribute this morning. After a long day yesterday, I had a fall down the stairs and had to visit A and E-I may have damaged a muscle or tendon in my left shoulder , so I’ve been unable to contribute . I’ll definitely be joining in again soon.

In the meantime, I’m slowly working through the government’s Green Paper(Health permitting)and trying to untangle some of the deceptive parts of their proposal. That said, I’m really glad to see the key issues that commonly affect many are already being discussed. As you rightly said, we have a vital role in empowering and motivating others and it’s painfully clear how much harm these proposals are already causing in our lives and across the community. Some of the stories shared truly pierce the heart.

Let’s continue to empower our members to stand against these devastating benefit cuts by responding to the Labour government’s ‘Pathways to Work’ Green Paper consultation.

I’ll join you there soon!

Thank you so much for sharing how things are going for you right now. I’m really sorry to hear about everything you’re dealing with - especially the lack of response from your work coach. That must feel incredibly frustrating and worrying, particularly when you’re already carrying so much.

I know I’m not an expert on the ins and outs of benefits, but it might be worth starting a separate thread about your situation. There are some really knowledgeable people here, including the Scope team and other members, who could offer some clear guidance. Have you had a chance to contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau? They can often be really helpful too.

I truly hear and understand your fears around the cuts and the uncertainty they’re causing. It’s so hard not knowing where you stand, and it’s only natural that it’s taking a toll on your mental health. Please remember that your life and wellbeing matter above all else. You are not alone in this, and there is still hope ✌️ many of us are standing together and doing what we can to challenge and stop these harmful proposals before they become reality.

I really hope you’re getting some support from your local mental health team, and if not, please don’t hesitate to reach out to services like Samaritans or Mind. They’re always there to listen without judgement – sometimes even just talking things through can ease the weight a little.
I honestly believe that people like us – people who’ve faced so much – are some of the strongest out there. Like you said in your post yesterday , this government clearly doesn’t understand the power of our collective voices. They might think we’re weak, but they’re in for a real surprise.

Please look after yourself and take things one step at a time. You’ve already shown a lot of strength by opening up here. That’s not easy – and it shows the kind of resilience that many wouldn’t understand unless they’d walked in similar shoes.
