Hey @SM9346
Sorry I’m only replying now - another bad night/day but I’m getting there.
How did you get on? Did you get a note in your journal? Please let me know if you did and feel free to send me a message (I still haven’t worked that one out 🙈)
I got a letter yesterday saying because I was transferring to New Style ESA and I’d have to do a telephone or face to face interview with my job coach 😳
I tried not to worry as I’m moving over from the Support Group and I hope a phone call will do … but I’m not sure.
I’ll have to leave a note for my case manager/work coach today in my journal. That letter made me feel even worse, so I really understand how you’re feeling as I’m up in the air about that interview 🙈
I really hope you’re ok and sorry again for not getting back to you sooner 🫤

ESA commitments appointment is usually done by phone, if a face to face is booked you can ask for a call instead.
Please read through this thread (click on the purple text View Post) to see others experiences of this call.
It honestly is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Thanks @Kimi87
I had selected that I’d needed a ramp or no steps on the UC Accessibility questions but I hadn’t seen anything about preferring telephone as opposed to face to face … it was more panicking about having to go in for an interview tbh.
I’ll keep an eye on my journal (had a couple of questions on there this morning to ask if my rent has increased).
Thank you so much for the info on this 😊 and I’ll keep a look out for an appt re this call. I’m usually at home (except Dr/hospital appts - Rock n Roll lifestyle!)

Hey @ChasingRainbows
Got message just now to go to job centre on Thursday afternoon.0 -
@SM9346 - can you leave a note in your journal requesting a phone call due to your conditions and anxiety?
I am really so sorry they’ve asked you to go in 😔0 -
The I’d theyre asking me to bring is
Passport, Birth Certicate, Debit Card and anything with my national insurance on it. So it’s not too bad.

@SM9346 I’m really glad it’s not as bad as you had expected. Still sorry it wasn’t a wee phone call but at least you know it’s just basic proof of ID.

It asked me to take 1 photo ID, 2 non ID and something with my bank details like a atm statement or bank statement. Plus something with my national insurance.

Not long out my appointment. It was fine took me less than 10 mins.Just showed my passport, birth Certicate and bank card with proof of my bank on my banking app. Never asked for anything else. Woman was lovely.
Got told to check my account on the 30th to find out how much I’ll get it and that’s it. I did get offered an advance but never took it up as I don’t need it for now. The only thing I have a issue with was my account hasn’t removed any work stuff but I assume that will all change in the next few weeks?

Yes that will change once your ESA status is confirmed.

The financial claim reviews are done by a team who don't work in Job Centres, so unfortunately she gave you the wrong information. Any UC claim can receive one of those reviews. They select people at random so timescales will be different for everyone who is chosen.

I asked the woman today and that’s what she said. I do feel there’s different misinformation thought from those who work in DWP to UC.

But not before 6 months for new claims yes?

It doesn't matter how old the claim is, I gave seen one person on here have a financial review on quite a new claim (1-2 months).
As I've repeatedly advised these are done at random so for those selected claim ages will all be different.

Thank you. Do you have a link to that post please?

That’s what I seen on Reddit from those who are verified who work for DWP. It’s at least 6 months but won’t be bang on after 6 months. Could be anytime like a year or 3 years later etc.
I did see another DWP manager mentioned anyone migrating over is being left alone for at least 12 months.

I don't unfortunately have a link to that one, but this poster was selected for a review 4 months after migration.
