Assessor lied about everything

so I have received my decision letter and honestly I’m shocked how everything the assessor had lied about, the decision maker had even had the nerve to say I’ve been on medication for two year and I seem to be doing great, they lied about how I can walk 200meters and how I can take shower or bath on my own without any help. That even though I said I have panic attacks and something I pass out that there’s no proof of that. They even lied about how I’m not deaf and I can hear properly. I’ve been on pip for 10 years they had my old form and evidence from when I was little and clearly stated everything, all the proofs that doctor had sent yet they have the nerve to lie about all this. They lied also about how I can travel on my own to unknown places which is clearly a lie I clearly said I get full panic attack when I don’t recognise the street

I thought about going for mandatory reconsideration but I feel humiliated to even beg for £115, I honestly cannot even believe that they did that. The anger I feel toward them, I have both of their full names and p4. But still anyone who will be having the assessment please record your own assessment as a proof.

Hi @bubblecake263, I'm really sorry you've had this experience. That sounds so frustrating and it's no wonder you're angry about it.

You have up to a month to request the mandatory reconsideration so don't feel like you have to decide whether to fight it yet. It's horrible to have to prove yourself to get what you need, but it's worth it if the money will be helpful to you.

    Hope you're doing okay 💙

Hi @bubblecake263, I'm so sorry to hear this, nobody should ever experience this.

Sadly this is just one of many occasions where I've heard about assessors lying - it's absolutely disgraceful! I am currently in the process of having a PIP review and it's been even a battle at the first hurdle, so I completely understand your anger.

I can really understand why you feel humiliated and put off from requesting a mandatory reconsideration as I felt the same way when I had to fight for LCWRA (turns out it was their fault, as they hadn't accumulated the right evidence from their end) and as @Rosie_Scope said, it's worth the money if it's going to help you.

Thank you for the advice re recording your own assessment, it's definitely something I'm looking into and will be doing. Unfortunately I've heard of stories where assessors have been as nice as pie, up until the declaration from the applicant that they're choosing to record, then they can be quite nasty - which to me just says everything! Such a lack of integrity on their part.

Luckily I’m still getting the lrcwa and I hope it stays that way, but I have never felt humiliated like I did for the last couple days, the money was helpful help me pay bills. I had to do the review on my bed as I cannot walk, But the fact that she acted nice and calm, she even mentioned that I kept yawning and laughing when I wasn’t doing any of that she was yawning looking straight at me. And if I asked to repeat what she said she laugh and repeated again. So you can honestly imagine the embarrassment and humiliation I felt and asking for the p4 as soon as the video call ended I knew she lied as I read through it and the decision maker had the nerve to say that they don’t have any evidence of that when I have send for the pass 10 years all proof. I will think about the reconsideration but honestly I was enough stress out, overwhelmed with having the review done, and on top of that having to do the reconsideration, it’s too much on me I mentally and physically cannot cope with more stressed and wait for them to reject me once again. I am scared of going down the dark hole again when I get overwhelmed and I’m trying really hard to avoid that, I don’t want to end up in hospital again,

That’s why I rather let anyone know who has review coming up to record their own assessment, as they always lies and say something that you never said.

Please don't give up bubblecake, mine was a bit like that, they seemed to contradict everything that had been said and had happened during my assessment, having said that the mandatory reconsideration didn't change anything, So I decided to appeal, 2 weeks before the actual appeal was due to be heard I had a phone call, the man was very apologetic saying sometimes they made mistakes and would I withdraw my appeal as they have decided to award me full PIP I requested on an ongoing basis (10 years light touch review) So please don't give up, it's what you're entitled to !! 🙂

@bubblecake263 oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, it's just absolutely abysmal! I know realistically that the reason assessments and conversations aren't being recorded is so that they can lie, but why isn't it mandatory from their end to not only protect us, but to protect the few staff they have who are honest.

It's disgusting that she has clearly been gaslighting you!

I completely understand, it's such a stressful process and we've got enough on our plates without having to fight for something we need. It has to be the decision that's right for you. I'm so sorry that you're going through this, it's so wrong!

If you do decide to request a mandatory reconsideration, have you considered looking into getting an advocate? I had a lady ready and in place (an ex social worker) for LCWRA, but it ended up being that they awarded it me before it got to the point of tribunal.

@bubblecake263 Don't give up! You have time to complete a MR and you already have all your proof! Please continue with it. I fought twice and like Markey ended up an a long award. See if you can get help to fill out the forms.

Have a break from it all, relax then go for it, you can do it again! We are here to give help and motivation too!

I did I even told her I will need her to speak louder, but she was always yawning, giggling, and when I ask her to repeat what she said she looked annoyed. There was always something clacking in the back. But honestly it felt humiliating, I told her I’ve been with pip for 10 years and they got all the proof from hospital and doctors but she ignored that and decided to write what she wants.

    @CountryMimi

That’s what it felt like, I felt honestly so embarrassed and humiliated, I just can’t do anything now I’m honestly so so tired, since the assessment I’ve been feeling so low, I just can’t forget how she lied about all this, I just wonder how many has she done that too? How could she sleep in the night knowing she’s ruining life?

That’s why I made this post to make sure people don’t trust their assessor, and record for their own proof. I don’t want anyone to go through what I’m going through I regret so much not recording the assessment

This does not surprise me. I've heard it so many times. They can give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires and largesse to the royals, big landowners and subsidise big supermarkets wages and spend tens of billions on geopolitical wars, and yet we cannot afford to look after the poorest and disabled here. Something is seriously wrong. This is wrong and unjust on so many levels. I would suggest you challenge it. What have you got to lose? The establishment is waging war on its own people. Immoral decisions made by people who won't feel the consequences of those decisions.

She sounds incompetent , my first assessor was a witch , she said i looked well nourished , had a french manicure , i didn't get PIP . It's so stressful and I believe that person who did your assessment needs sacking .

I'm calling the DWP tomorrow and i am going to ask for a phone assessment like last time , I am going to say I will have my carer with me and also MacMillan .

I have not had to do it, but you can put in a complaint to the DWP about your assessment and review. It is disgusting how you were treated. Please don't take it personally, if they can stop the Winter Fuel Allowance for pensioners, they are capable of anything!

when you consider the entire assessment balances on these people, they hold incredible power, rumour has it companies/individuals get paid on their ability to refuse or reduce a claim, It strikes me as true, yet all anyone can do is the MR, Mandatory Reconsideration, and hope the next soul we contact actually has a heart.

I can't for definite say that your post is true, but I know a person's relation worked for or at the DWP and she left within a year as she could not do the job.... It upset her that much. So there is something in what you say!

@bubblecake263 I completely understand, it's disgusting the way you've been treated.

Agreed! Sadly, I don't think you're in a minority and she's probably doing the same to others on a daily basis.

As @itallmakessense said, my Mum has often said she thinks it's almost like they're being rewarded for making cuts and getting a financial incentive. Honestly, I know someone has to do the job, but I'd like the think that people who have true integrity and really care about other people would fight against it and refuse to do that.

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this, it's just so disgusting and goes against what are supposedly British values. Whilst it's absolutely devastating that you've had to post this, I'm so glad you've spoken up 💖

Like all the comments I myself was treated with little respect, when I received the outcome letter from them .it was full of things I never said , such lies, so I took them to the tribunal, and won , and got 8 months back dated ,,, but to be truthful it should not be like this as in everything there r people cheating the system of thing and spoiling it for the genuine, please don't give up , take them all the way the true God will help you say a prayer before hand amen
