I hope you don't mind me butting in but I would like to make the suggestion of becoming a member of Benefits and Work.

I've been disabled for 21 years now and have been through different organisations for help with filling in the forms and I have found none better than Benefits and Work. Some organisations were good but could not match their highly professional expert advice.

Seriously, I've found them second to none and I've been a member for many years. I'm not trying to outdo your suggestions, just to say that they are such a good option and are worth considering.

They have the advantage that if you can't get out easily, it's all online. There is also no waiting time for an appointment and their disability guides will allow you to fill in the form in your own time, or to suit someone who may be filling it in for you.

They only cost £20.00 a year too. Also, because they rely on members donations, organisations use them too, it means that they are totally independent of government interference which has got to be a good thing!! 😊

Very well said! 👏 Especially as Transitional Protection is such a derisiory amount, very much less than the benefit it replaces. It soon disappears with a few inflationary benefit rises!

Having read your post, I would like to say that, yes, most assessments have been done on the phone although I should warn you that face to face assessments are being bought back with the green paper proposals.

I'm afraid that I would not personally recommend the CAB. They started working with the government some years ago and, as I've found out by my own experience, they give out inaccurate information, no doubt with government interference.

With my experience of getting help with disability benefit over 21 years my biggest recommendation by far is to become a member of Benefits and Work. They are not just good for news, they really do the very best advice guides anywhere as far as I'm am concerned.

The membership only costs £20.00 a year. I do hope you might consider looking into this. 😊

We often recommend people contact the CAB as many have found them very helpful @jul1aorways. There is no truth in your statement regarding government interference, so let's please not start spreading around misinformation.

I'm sure B&W are great, but many do not have the money to spend to pay for help, hence free (and also great) services such as ourselves and CAB.😊

I read somewhere there are over a million immigrants on benefits and it makes me wonder if the attack on welfare is because of this . He has no intention of controlling immigration so I can’t help think is there a connection. I read once gained settled status they can also claim benefits such as uc and maybe pip I don’t know. As you say getting us to do their jobs would be killing two birds with one stone and maybe that’s why the uc basic uplift .

It’s also imo another attack on the older and elderly by stopping foreign workers in the care sector. Trying to force older sick people who need help themselves into working as carers for the elderly. Some days I can barely lift a cup without pain how could I lift an elderly person who’s relying solely on me. I noticed they haven’t mentioned other sectors such as the hospitality sector unless I haven’t heard anything about that . Only care .
I actually mentioned benefits cuts to their canvasser . I knew they intended this as we were ignored before the election. The canvasser assured me he wouldn’t work for Starmer if he were stopping pip as his mum’s disabled. It must be part of their script .

I may do that thank you . Mines up next February though I haven’t received my review form yet . No idea what to expect as I’ve heard it’s a very long form now. Why they keep changing it I don’t know.

Often Citizens Advice isn't the only choice, locally we have CAB, Disability Advice Bureau and Disability Advice Service.

Well said. Under Starmer we have to worry about so many of the benefits that we are genuinely entitled to being taken from us and even his own MPs have to worry about their own career and incomes being taken off them too, because of what's happening to us. Everyone suffers under his style of so called leadership! Except him and his cronies of course. 😤

As you say the level of toxicity and bullying must be terrible behind the scenes. If we hadn't stood up for ourselves there would have been little to no realization from Labour MPs, of the threat they have hanging over them, from us.

Up to 200 of them have majorities that are less than the number of PIP claimants in each if their constituencies!! 😮 This is because Labour have more MPs in constituencies with high deprivation (therefore more PIP claimants) than any other political party.

This means that at the next Local Elections next year, which will cover more of the country, more of them will lose their seats, long before the General Election!

I think that a lot will change for the better with these evil proposals but we have to keep fighting them as the Labour leadership are not the type to back down completely. Not ever I'm afraid. Not until they are made to go. 😡

After watching silver fox I can see how badly he treats Rayner , not that I’m a fan of hers after he switch to benefits cuts. But the disrespect shown to a deputy PM shows what starmers like .
