Have you closed old accounts or are they still opened

Closed one nearly 6 and a half years ago and one nearly five

I thought once closed all the information has gone but that's not the case i just googled it.
Yes, the government can access information from closed bank accounts, particularly HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) and the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions). They may have specific reasons to do so, such as investigating potential tax evasion or fraud, or recovering debts.

Just read about the changes to WFA, good news for pensioners but strange they’ve u turned on the day they’re mentioning a change to pip assessments/ criteria . IMO this could go either of two ways for us. The u turn on WFA could be a way to appease the rebellion regarding disability. I heard a while ago that they couldn’t back down completely over WFA as that would undermine reeves so they may raise the threshold. That seems what they’re doing from what I just read . I don’t know how the MPs could justify voting for cuts to disability benefits as more elderly will be helped . We will still vote them out if they vote for cuts whereas the pensioners from what I’ve read don’t really vote labour .
My other thought is Kendall has suddenly announced a change in the pip assessments/ criteria which I read at the beginning of the cuts announcement was sometime in the future. Could they have brought it forward to change the criteria to make it easier to get a 4 point descriptor? That way there’s no climb down from reeves and Kendall . If they change criteria so the 8 point question will become the 4 point and 4 point question will become a 2 hardly anyone will qualify. That will mean you can’t cook at all , feed yourself or wash yourself anywhere at all . I think the backlash for that would be enormous . But to change it so it’s easier to get 4 points wouldn’t be seen as a climb down. Just my thoughts but I hope it’s something positive 🤞

So the WFA u turn has happened but they're not budging on the cuts, I don't believe they will budge on this as it's become a sort of perverse ideological crusade for the Labour front bench.

I have been looking and feel like I'm banging my head against a wall Don't know where to turn next 😞

You’ve done so much Catherine fighting for yourself and all of us . It would be disgusting if all it achieves is help for the WFA , though I definitely think they deserve it . But it shouldn’t be a bargaining tool to stab us in the back . I’m wondering if Kendall looking into the pip assessments/ criteria suddenly means they could change it so it’s easier to get the 4 point , that way reeves and Kendall haven’t climbed down but softened the blow .

Yeah that's right but to be fair I never had over 6000 at anyone time in either of them , one of them most I ever had was 2800 and that was gone in hours , other than that it was mostly 2000 overdrawn , the second only ever had a few hundred at any one time so ooooo.....
The two declared ones had 3500 most and that was a back payment so disregarded but gone in hours anyway , and the other only a few hundred at anyone time .... It would uncovered old PayPal's that have been closed for like 4 years but again never 1 had over 6000 at anyone time , same with the bookies accounts and anything else .... Think the most I've ever been is 4800 at anyone time in a singular place or spread out across everything , and that was only hours 🤷.... It's the transactions though , so many ins and outs , winnings and losing z friends lending me and me paying back .... A real Hodge podge ..... It would be a nightmare trying to explain 😖 hopefully maybe I'm worrying a little bit to much

We will 😊.... Hopefully I'm worrying a little two much , looking at every single thing that could go wrong .... My OCD does that , fixate on everything

I wouldn't worry as be hard for you to probably remember where and when gambled as it's it's a chaotic addiction if they want to know tell them look for for it as you can't remember. My son was a gambler and know how hard it is, good on you for quitting though 👍

Yeah nearly 4 years now 🙂

A massive achievement honestly 👍 don't be worrying about things that are out of your control with the closed account your are probably worrying over nothing

I wonder if they’ll change the 4 point descriptors so they’re easier to get . They’ve said they’re looking to change the assessments . They could of course make the 4 point harder to get but then there’ll be an even bigger backlash . If they changed the 4? Point questions to make them easier it softens the blow without them backing down .

Citizens Advice: Government’s health and disability benefit reforms mean that some of those affected will still be worse off even if working full timeNew analysis from Citizens Advice of how the incomes of disabled people would change if cuts to PIP and universal credit were introduced today and those affected were able to move into full-time work:
In many cases, people would see only a small increase in income by working full-time, and in some situations, they could actually end up worse off. This also relies on the very unrealistic assumption that people currently considered unable to work can suddenly take on a full-time job. For many, part-time work is a more realistic option than full-time employment. But moving into part-time work is more likely to result in a loss of income, and the financial impact is typically much greater. For example:a single claimant losing PIP daily living and universal credit health would be £114 per month worse off if they worked full-time, and £359 per month worse off if they worked part-time for 20 hours per week.a couple claimant where one partner loses PIP daily living and universal credit health, while the other remains in full-time employment, would only gain £112 a month if the partner that lost their benefits worked full-time. And they would be £272 per month worse off if the partner worked part-time for 20 hours per week.Citizens Advice adds that its findings undermine the government's argument that people will be able to compensate for lost benefits income by taking up paid employment.

I know but I remember her saying it’s sometime in the future. Seems strange to bring in changes all of the sudden. Something I think will change with the 4 point descriptors. Either made harder to get resulting in even less people being eligible or they could make them easier. If they made the 4 point easier they havent climbed down and it may ease the rebellion. If they plan on going ahead and making us all destitute I can’t see the WFA calming the situation down. MPs will still lose their votes from us .

So it doesn’t look like a complete climb down ? Only days ago reeves said definitely no change. I’m really hoping they suddenly do something positive regarding us next . 🤞🙏

Concessions on WFA and 2 Child Cap are maximum impact minimum pain for the government. The general population can get on board with loving nanas and kids and virtue signalling their outrage when those groups are threatened. It's the cute factor, whereas with the disabled, not so much.
I'm very upset and bitterly annoyed to be honest.
