I got the DWP call. It was regarding some money they owe me. They asked me if I lived alone and I said yes.. and if someone looks after me or I looked after someone And I said No. They say they might owe me money about 82 a week. I am very worry. They might have things mixed up. They said is for esa. I am getting very worry . They said threre will be a background check etc .. hopefully there will be someone in a similar situation. He never expecify but this is esa for what I understand. I am very confused. They will send letters etc. hopefully someone will know.. i hope is not mixed up with careers allowance. This is a completely different benefit.. right......hope you can help

@Catherine21 . Thanks so much. It is strange because I thought I was getting the max in esa. Not sure. I hate the idea of being moved to UC but I know it will happen. But I do not know..they will send letter etc... . I just feel very suspiciously about everything..

    It's not your fault

Hit me for 6, wasn't expecting it

Hard to believe it was over 25 years ago

I used to see women I swear were my mum, like everyone looked like her. Same with dad too

Made me feel like an orphan

Ok. Had a second call.. and they will backdate money etc. they say it will not affect benefitS.. I hope it not affect housing benefits etc.. anyway. Normally good things happen to other people and not to me so I am a bit worry. But Anyway. I hope it will be ok.

That sounds like good news @Schildpad! As it's their mistake, this kind of money is usually not regarded as capital so it shouldn't affect your benefits ☺️

@Schildpad Most of the time it is a year but under some circumstances where it was down to an error of law, it can be disregarded for the length of the claim. There's a little bit of information on this PDF if that's accessible to you. If you're not too sure, it may be worth getting in touch with a benefits adviser to see where you stand. You could try searching on the Turn2Us - AdviceFinder or contacting Citizen's Advice ☺️

Thank you. Will read the attachment. It if long but I will.. I will not think too much about it . But he said it does not count As income.. I hope he did not lie. Will see the coming letter. When I read the letter will see.. but to be honest this is too distressing in general. Always scared about it. They cut or they don't.cut the benefits. If I could do something I would rather be on work. But not sure I could cope with it.. it is not wort it.it is very hard to carry on everyday.. and of course they will move to UC eventually. I hope they leave me alone this year but surely will be next year. Still I feel very suspicious but let see what happens. Now will try to relax.. but hard to. I feel eventually they will cut them.. all.governments are attacking,. . Good night.
