MW I hope you’re right . If say it gets voted down can he then pass it as a money bill ? I suspect they want this through asap so autumn they can scrap the two child limit and think alls forgotten.
If it does go through as a money bill what does it mean for us ? What’s the difference voting wise ? 🙏🤞0 -
It literally says here it's not a money bill because it's not got far enough through the process. It's like schrodinger bill at the moment. People saying it definitely is are wrong.
I've also repeatedly read though the bill and impact assessment published alongside it and the most yhat says is primary legislation. Yes a money bill is a type of primary legislation but so are other bills

It may not look good on the speaker to go along with starmer again as I’m sure I remember called for him to quit last time

Hi @dannistar, some people with learning disabilities may be affected by the proposed 4-point rule, but not everyone. It will depend on the severity of the individual's learning disability and how it affects them. Mencap have a page you might find useful:

I'm not sure why Jeremy included that at the top of his letter or the context behind it. He would be the best person to explain.
As far as I can tell from official government sources, the bill has not been formally certified as a money bill. Based on everything I have seen today, it is still progressing through Parliament as standard primary legislation.
I would advise any members who come across any conflicting or unclear information about the bill, the most reliable way to confirm its status is by tracking its progress directly on the UK Parliament website. The bill is listed as Bill 267 for the 2024–25 session, entering that number will bring up all the relevant details. The Second Reading, which is the first major debate and vote on the bill, is scheduled for 1 July 2025.

We all want reassurance Catherine, but stuff like that frightens people unnecessarily so maybe its best left to the experts and we should concentrate on facts alone.
You know what effect it's having on yourself, well you're passing that on to others at the same time, I know you don't mean to ever upset anyone but some panic very easily and we don't want people any more stressed right now.

I think like everything they’re doing nothing is clear . Let’s face it if the system was honest and reliable most of us would already be getting 4? Points and classed as lifelong severe . It’s the fact that so much of it is about luck of who the assessor is and even which legal advisors help us . I’ve had bad representation and I’m possibly up for review so soon because of this . Make the system fair and we would mostly get what we deserve without all these assessments. Of course that’s not what they want though .

It’s very unfair as once you get a diagnosis of ME you had GET( now debunked) CBT and pacing therapy. After that there is nothing. No cure or treatment so I wouldn’t still have a specialist almost 15 years later , you get discharged
