Every hare brained scheme of hers has backfired. Job coaches in care homes and hospitals, job centre vans and hopefully this!
Not looking good for Liz Kendall. I don't feel sorry for her.

This is positive as the House Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle is very supportive of disability and the struggle we have. I have look back over 10 years and he always helping and attending events in support of disability.
BBC News..today
The reasons it lists for thwarting the bill include the number of people the plans are expected to push into relative poverty, a lack of consultation, and an inadequate impact assessment on the consequences on the jobs market and on people's health.
It is known as a reasoned amendment, which is a parliamentary mechanism which allows MPs to record their reasons for objecting to a bill.
If the reasoned amendment is selected by House Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle, and the majority of MPs vote in favour of it, the bill will not be allowed to continue its passage through Parliament.

So does anyone know if the government could pull the bill even before the Speaker selects the amendment? I guess from our point of view that would be the only way to ensure the Tories don't sabotage us at this stage.

Yes. The government can opt to withdraw the Bill at any point during its passage through Parliament. To withdraw the Bill, the a DWP minister would a statement to the Commons, outlining the reasons for the withdrawal.ย I don't think it's likely unless the government is convinced it's going to fail. In this instance it will review its options before presenting a new improved version.

If the Bill is pulled it's the end for Kendall. If it proceeds and fails next Tuesday it's the end for Reeves and possibly Starmer unless he shifts to relative decency with a new ministerial team. Even that will bring him new enemies. What a hole they've dug.
