Omg that’s amazing and the fact independents are adding their names means it’s more likely to be passed by the speaker so I read

I'm not interested in hearsay; I'm speaking from my own personal experience, as I know many others here also are. But if you had a smooth application process and award, I'm glad. It's nice to know the system is working for some people, even if not for everyone. :)
Side note, when this story of the amendment first broke, ITV were reporting it, the Guardian etc soon picked it up. The BBC did not. It was not on the BBC site until the next morning, when they suddenly realised it was 'actually a story' and not just another irrelevance from the disability quarter (the section they hide away under several menus). Now it's top story on the BBC because it's become a BIG STORY…but the lack of interest in it initially is dispiriting.Side note, the i are also reporting concessions are likely. It's behind a paywall so I can't read all of it but it does feel like they're starting to realise this is not just going away. I trust the i more than the Telegraph as it's not concealing far right propaganda in every paragraph.
One Labour MP has withdrawn her name, she's also apologised for doing so but has said that she doesn't want to lose the 'good parts' of the bill. Read into that what you will. It's her free choice though. I've also read she's been receiving abuse for it and while her withdrawal is frustrating, abuse is never okay.
On the question why the libs are not saying anything - they have said they'd oppose the bill, but they don't really need to do or say anything while Labour are doing it for them. I suspect several have signed the bill if the new signatories are from external parties.
I would think this makes it impossible for Lindsay Hoyle to not call the amendment, it's now cross-party and the fact even the DUP are supporting it speaks volumes.3 -
It seems history is forgotten. Lots of people hated Harriet Harman for Gordon Brown. Keith Starmer is a fraud. Yet Nigel is worse.

Starmer needs to take responsibility and stop throwing people under the bus . Few like him and no one voted for him they just had no one else . And respected around the world 😂. He’s a laughing stock . If he’s lived abroad great they can have him . I really hope this fails and he has to go . And the rest of the anti disabled mob . 🤞🙏

Jesscia Elgot reporting on X this evening.
EXC - No10 is set to offer concessions to Labour rebels on welfare. Talks are ongoing but changes could be made to the Pip reforms.A number of cabinet ministers are now said to believe the bill has no chance of passing in its current form.Story with@kiranstacey@PippaCrerarOur story tonight amid splits at the top of government over how to handle the welfare rebellion.“There is a camp for pulling it, a camp for concession and a small but insane camp for ploughing on," says one source.
Personally would rather see the bill scrapped. Goodness knows what concessions the government are offering.

Hence why I put it in inverted commas. Her words, not mine.
