What I do not understand about Keir Starmer and these changes. Why doesn't he use his common sense and invite people like scope and other experts to a meeting and get their input into this. It is obvious he does not understand what it is like to be in ill health. He has just decided this is a great idea to save money and not really looked into it.
1 -
Don’t know what that means . Isn’t that what happens now ?

People still do not understand if the changes will affect them. For example if your award runs out after the changes, does the four point system affect you. He is not making it clear. Even when labour ministers were asked that question over the weekend, they did not know. And now, a labour mayor is telling MPs to vote against the changes. So, if he is still saying that, then he knows something we don't

Starmer is a lawyer by trade, lawyers are never clear and withhold information on purpose.
Same like politicians, but he has a double ration 😂

Ita all confusing I do not trust them

Talking about polls, I found a page from a research group, they asked more specific questions to a set of different voters from each party.
One of the questions was very specific on do you support proposals in relation to people needing physical adaptations for dressing, toilet etc.
Even the most right wing group was slightly against it, the others it was much more against. I will try to find the link if I can but it was a while back, a couple of months or so ago.
Backing welfare reform, doesnt necessarily meaning also backing these specific cruel proposals.0 -
Left wing group, surely? "was [sic] slightly against it".
0 -
As a whole it was clear against, on a per voting group basis I recall the most right wing group was even slightly against it
But of course in the news ministers will tell us because they believe there is broad support for welfare cuts, it must mean that this policy is also supported.0 -
Here it is till 2028 then be to late to change so yes have 3 years then hit with it all over again with no change email mps I know Jeremy voting against everyone else if your mp voting for this email to contest

So "the most right wing group" were only slightly against? Who were "much more against"?

Yes we could win to retain our disability benefits PIP, but what about ESA being lost. I have lost my ESA of over 400 quid / 4 weeks?
We need to keep writing to our MPs and the press, TV Radio social media etc., even at this late stage; its never too late… to win.. but only if keep take nowt for grated, but WORK for a victory, and dissolve apathy, doubt, fear, traumas, and write to our MPs.
WE CAN WIN, YES WE CAN, BUT KEEP WRITING TO YOUR MPS, IT IS ESSENTIAL.
Someone on this forum has raised this: we are focussing on PIP, which is necessary indeed, but it seems the loss of ESA by disabled people being migrated to UC has not been covered.
When one migrates to UC, you have to sign the UC form saying you understand you will lose benefits.
I did sign it but, it is NOT a free choice, and made me very anxious and depressed, because the lack of NHS dentists means I have had to spend a few £100 on dentistry.
So I'm going to ask solicitors, pro bono and civil legal aid, there was no duty of care here, the loss of so much money, given the rise in living costs of 40% since Putin's invasion of Ukraine, is DEPRESSING. IT EVEN TRIGGERED TRAUMATIC SUICIDAL FEELINGS and I shall ask solicitors even a barrister I know my signing the UC form saying I understood about loss of benefits was under duress, was pressuring traumatic no duty of care, no right to life there, could be unlawful and maybe a case to answer in law, and ethics. I shall get back to you all, as of course I care about you all, each and everyone of you, who are suffring great distresses too.
I will look after myself and others.

No one was. No group supported the proposals.

I don't understand, I am only quoting what you originally posted.

Dear Luvpoink,
You expressed confusion and distyress at the horrible prospect of these PIP changes, and say that you havent eaten.
I am so sorry to hear that.
I do feel for you, andmany others on this forum too.
Try to eat, treat yourself. Even if you can eat a little bit that is good. If you do not eat you will go further into confusion, despair and even higher anxiety - I know I've been there.
So, please also, record your present physical and mental state, what illnesses have been made worse, and the chronic symptoms you describe above - as evidence to protest (both reconsideration, and appeal =s 2 bites at the cherry).
Keep a record, because it is real, and if you can share this with your MP, to write to Starmer and his Disability ministers.
You are stronger than you know. The news generally is depressing, but not all of it. We Buddhist reduce negative input from the media, and do more mediation, relaxation yoga, and campaigning, for there are socially and politically engaged Buddhists, like me. Compassion requires political, economic and social justice, and there is Maslow's hiearachy of needs .
Please take good care of yourself, perhaps consider, all of us,
'Develop a more compassionate narrative for your sufferings'
e.g you did not ask for this proposed cuts in benefits, you are not bad or evil, but human, you are a valuable intelligent kind human being, and can recover. You can use your friends, etc.
It is not our fault, these proposed cuts, we deserve benefits, and we need to keep writing to the media, and our MPs.
Please Google ''find your MP'' and ''TV'' ''radio'' and ''newspapers'' ''newsdesks''
