Oh ok thanks .... Yeah
I was on incapacity 2009 - 2013
Then moved to ESA CB support 2013
Then In 2018 they realised they made a mistake , as they had with thousands of people .... That when we were moved over from incapacity to ESA we all should of been in cbesa with IR top up .... So they rectified it and gave us a back payment of all the top ups we missed , so by doing that we were seen as having cbesa with a IR top up from the very start of being on ESA ....
Then I moved over to UC and now I get cbesa / new style ESA every two weeks ....( not sure which as I think maybe cbesa changes to new style ESA when you move to UC ) And then get my lcwra at the end of the month with my ESA taken off of it ....
So I've never been in the wrag , always been in the support group , so my award has never had a time limit ....
Thanks for the information though , I never realised that there was a time limit on the wrag …
I was just saying in my previous post , I find it amazing that because I worked two years prior to my claim of incapacity benefit and qualify for contribution based benefits because of that , I still qualify for them now all these years later just because there's never been a break in my claim

I'd say that it's great there's somewhere local that's able to help disabled people into work and wont take advantage of them. 😁

Coming to this very late as I've been away, but - bear in mind this is very regionally done, but in my council area Attendance Allowance is a considered factor in applications for Blue Badges. There is a longer form with more information required for people who don't have PIP or DLA automatic qualification but a fair number of what are known here as discretionary blue badges are issued in our area based on medical evidence, a detailed form and Attendance Allowance.
If you get to that point, take whatever medical information you have for your disability with you to the application. In our area having a long term record for a condition requiring a blue badge is also taken into consideration, although it can't provide eligibility on its own :)
Additional - the suspension of MPs for listening to their constituents is another poor PR move by Labour. I emailed Maskell after the vote to thank her for fighting for disabled people. We need MPs like those who have had the whip removed, because they are brave enough to speak up for the right things.

Catherine, I have loved your dogged determination throughout this whole sorry saga, you have been a real star, you have never given up fighting for every disabled person via email ( it must be getting on for all MP's now ) everyday 😊

Ok, it's back to PIP so I'll leave it there!

In case anyone finds it useful, there is an option while posting to make the pictures a different size. I'll include a picture to show you where that option is below ☺️
When you upload or copy an image into your post, you can then click on the image and a bar of settings will come up. You might have to scroll up to the top of the image to see it. This should be there on both PC/Laptop and Mobile devices.
The default size is large, but if you select the second option across, you can choose medium or small to make it smaller so it takes up less of your post. Hope that's helpful. And I hope you don't mind me using your screenshot in the example @Catherine21!
Then if you find a picture is too small for you to read after posting it, you can just click on it and it should open as a larger image in a new window.

I've kept schtum for a long time about this, but feel the need to speak up now.For those of you out there who are constantly complaining about the Government's attacks on us disabled, just bear this in mind.If you do change your vote for another Party then you are basically adding to the chances of Reform and Farage forming the next Government. If you think this Party have it in for us all, then wait until Farage is in power. This mendacious, divisive and repugnant man will take the current Labour Policies and magnify them ten times over.
IN SHORT,IF YOU VOTE FOR FARAGE,OR EVEN IF YOU DESERT THE LABOUR PARTY AND VOTE FOR A N OTHER,YOU ARE FACILITATING A REFORM GOVT. AND OPENING THE GATES OF HELL.
Please think about this

You're not wrong, but where does that leave us when all the main parties seem to have it in for the disabled? Better the devil you know? Things are bad all round for us.

Right now,Labour are the ONLY option. What people do not seem to realise is that the Labour Party itself will always have its rebels who will challenge their own Leader. The Conservative Party will have very few rebels, while the Reform Party will very probably have no rebels at all who are willing to challenge its own Tinpot Dictator. So,all in all, after careful consideration, the Labour Party is the ONLY option for any discerning voter out there.A vote for any other Party is against our interests. It really is as simple as that.Case closed IMO…..unless somebody knows better.

I have not and will not ever vote Labour.

I understand your point but look at where we are now already. I do not like Labour and absolutely do not trust them, but I also can't claim to know the answer either. It's a rough place to be.

Unfortunately we've had to temporarily pause this discussion as it continues to move off topic and becoming uncivil and unsupportive.

In a dream world I'm hoping Jeremy corbyn makes a party that out numbers labour that all good mps from Labour join could that be a possibility but yes reform oh hell no and kemi seems to be going in really hard quoted saying along lines of people sitting at home doing noting whilst tax payers paying mmm I think government gain from tax payers money I used to get very upset now I just think how embarrassing and how easy humans are to mauliplate causes wars riots unrest all from galloping elites clinking glasses and in glee at the stupidity how strong we would be together I've always been open minded race religion is not something I see I've always seen the person I don't want anymore than anyone else or in competition with anyone but people who are full of dislike and unrest will always be played back to subject all parties seem more blue than red let's hope corbyn comes forward
Hi Catherine,
You make some good points there, especially re:being in competition with others and the easy manipulation of the masses. As for Corbyn,he is a man of decency and integrity, but sadly i think his setting up a new faction might only serve to split the Labour vote and give rise to Reform getting the keys to number ten.

I'm afraid I like Corbyn, the old Labour party mp's looked after people. That was until the new (torylabour) of blairs party ruined everything. I'm not advocating that we turn this into a political thread, it should be about looking after people, whether been made redundant or become ill and that's what they use to do.

Good morning,
I've removed a number of posts from this discussion to tidy it up a bit. It's important that people are able to access information without having to scroll through disagreements and discussion about other topics.
I have also removed some less-than-civil comments, including ones calling other members lazy. Please remember that just because something is simple to you, does not mean it is to others. We all share and access and process information differently.
That said, we have taken all of the feedback and information on board, particularly about accessibility and the general atmosphere on the community.
With kind regards,
Charlie

I completely agree.
I have been on this site and many others fighting the cause for the disabled, even when the other lot were in.
You are right to say that the Disability Budget and "the Budget to get people back into work" are TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
This was one of the points I raised in writing the White Paper. If you read it carefully the budget was allocated to assist Disabled (Neurodiversant, as the word Disabled "cannot and should not be used in the assessment process.) (I will clarify that later) people back into work, assist in adaptions at home and at work, if already working, allowing courses and meetings with Professionals to teach, and help understand their conditions, what can be expected in the future, so far as treatment, administering of Drugs that cannot be bought over the counter, or operation consultation as to what can be achieved and what might be achieved, and whether it is a quick fix, to aleviate the problems now b ut in the long term what might be the results.
I have to talk plainly since not all disabilities are the same. Some can be fixed and some sadly cannot. But to call anyone that claims a benefit on the sick, and is long term on the DOLE disabled? Is incorrect.
That budget is set forn those in Parliament who have not looked at long term sick benefits and the reason they are on long term sick. Reason 1. Extended long term sick without assistance from anyone to talk to as to what the claimants goals are, causes stress, Mental Issues that surround going back to work, after a long period of illness, and the fact that they believe that everyone one thinks they are screwing the system, can be the first hurdle to climb.
In the last year I have reinstated 5 people in Cardiff back into work, because I talk to the Employers, and Occupational Health, AND THE CLAIMANT FIRST, TO UNDERSTAND the barriers, as its not just money its the UNSEEN ILLNESSES that cause other ablebodied, working age people to tar everyone with the same brush.
Yes, with some adaptions they can go back, and this is what the government is doing now. Great, but how many bother to go back and revisit the claimant after a week, or a month to see that everything that was agreed is being adhered to, BY BOTH SIDES. I can tell you, none. In my cases I visit the works prior to the Claimant speaking to Occ Health, and agree a smooth transition of say an hour one day a week, thenif both agree increase it to two or three times a week, then to the agreed hours, which must also take into account, "the job" where if targets are set before going on the sick, they are reviewed, even if it means sitting with someone who is now doing their job and not actually using a computer but understanding that changes may have been made to the system that needed "tweaking"
The Disability budget is exactly that. If you are registered as "disabled" then why do we need to fight to get what we are entitled to? How can someone alter the Assessment process unless the changes to the assessment process have been agreed?
The assessment Charter and Laws are set in PDF Documents that cannot be altered. You can amend the document, but both parties have to sign that they agree to the changes made, date the agreed changes, and show on a top copy the NEW AMENDMENT NUMBER. This all comes under Bond Solon Part 35 Section 2 paragraphs 1.00 to 1.15. Where any one of the 15 bullet points not met the "report cannot be used" even as an opinion unless acredited supporting evidence is used.
So statements that say, I did not see any of this at the Face to Face interview, and therefore……. do not hold water. This being one of many statementys still being used by the ASSESSORS. The White Paper is there for a reason, and to close discussion before parts have already been agreed is also against the LAW. This comes under CANDOUR. Where no third party company, may alter or amend a Charter or Law without the Main Holders Concent.
The main holder of the assessment contract are the DWP the very people altering the assessment process, yet why have certain parts already been agreed and implemented? Its because before and during the Pandemic certain rights were given to the assessment providers HIRED BY THE DWP TO ASSESS CLAIMANTS, which has not been resinded.
We are not in a Pandemic, so why hasn't the Medical Board looked at any assessments or the changes to the Charters and Laws we have already agreed and allowed the NHS who already assess us for treatment to take back the assessment process and the money paid for the assessment process put back where it belongs, INTO THE NHS as the NHS was supposed to be self funding, IN ALL DEPARTMENTS NOT JUST A & E.
The last time I looked a simple assessment was £850. Yes, £850 for an assessmnet that the NHS already do. You don't see these assessment providers in A & E? Why not? Because they are there not to give a medical assessment but they can overwrite an assessment report given by a Doctor or a Surgeon to name some, or reduce benefits and in somecases remove them all together?
If you are going to use assessment providers hired by the DWP to assess us for access to benefits, then supply all the other documentation that they are supposed to supply withb every report. This is where the original £850 was supposed to be used. I will not pay £850 for an opinion, since I already am an appointee I will under cut them and only charge you (or the DWP) £650/assessment as they also do not represent the DWP in Court, neither do the unions. I know because I have asked for the Skills matrix of many union reps, and they don't have anywhere near the expertise I have.
10 cases last year (to get benefits reinstated), 5 placements back into a working enviornment. How many has this labour party placed back into work without some sort of cut to benefits insteady of assistance we require and a fight.
I am not saying that I am the best thing since sliced bread, but some common sence should prevale somewhere.
I joined Scope Senedd last year and was thankful for that by members here. My "fight" should be not to get an increase in the cost of living or a change to Pension Rights as other people get paid big bucks for that I DON'T.
(You can always call me Sir? As I also lecture.)
