I have a question to add on this post after receiving my PA4 report from 2017…

The PA4 was sent by dwp it seems that something happened or changed to my claim in 2021 whereby it's gone to a new assessor nothing changed and I heard nothing about this input towards my claim. I moved house in 2022 of which they included the copy of my letter I sent to them regards a cocs in new address. That's the only change since 2017.
I'm wondering would my 10 year award have been a review or updated without my input and advice relating to this change in 2021 where it's changed over, any advise asto anyone noticing anything like this would be great if anybody knows….

I've also noticed that my 10 year award letters from PIP each year just state the usual ongoing period for claim. And whatever happened to the move over to a new DM it's now showing ongoing which has got me very confused…… any advice would be greatly appreciated re this as I'm now worried with all going on with bills etc…

can anyone advise my comment on the above query, I think I may have been reviewed without my knowledge for something to cause input in 2021 changed Case Manager or DM I had moved 2022 that was it, bugging me why this would be a change on the PA4 report, I maybe reading too much into it I'm guessing it was just a change over if CM or DM?

It's just a guess @tealhoneydew16 - but I wonder if you're claim simply was increased in length due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I know mine increased in length then, & then subsequently I got a 10 year long award, tho from 2017 when I first claimed PIP. I've never had a review at all, so it's never gone to another DM (other than when I did a MR as to my initial claim in 2017 when my award was increased).

A lot of awards were increased in length at the time. Perhaps like mine you were given a 10 year award without a review? The 10 year awards (sometimes called 'light touch' awards) do just say the award is 'ongoing,' tho they give a date as to when this might be looked at again.

I don't think it's anything to worry about. Each April you just get a letter to just update the increase in the amount of money you get.

I hope I can clarify a few points.

Most awards were increased in length due to the Pandemic, but so were the rights of the assessment team.

Although they may have given you an extention to the original certificate end date, all have to be logged. So for Administrative purposes, like mine which was a certificate for life, something they say they don't give, yes they do, but Admin (DWP) have to have a date to revisit everyone, including me, to make sure that the rate given is correct, or that in the interum period they may ask you if any thing has changed. This is called a review, and is not sent to everyone because they have been on a benefit for a long time, (Although this might be the case. MY OPINION<) It allows you to send in further information of an improvement or deteration in condition/s, operation results given before the assessment, or changes in medication, where the balance has caused results making matters worse.

You should always report a change to the original paperwork sent in as this is two fold, it allows the assessor/decision maker a chance to rectify issues raised in the assessment process that may have down graded your assessment rate that would now give an increased rate, and it would allow people who where off work because of Mental issues like stress, or even selfharm, to show that they are ready through courses and treatments to start the journey back into work.

This in its self is a task unto its self, when you have been off for some time. (I have another post describing the journey, and believe me its not a quick fix, as some believe, as the silent and unseen illness is also a killer.) but on a posative note with the right people guiding you through, we will get their. The more we interact with the government and the assessors, including the Decision Makers the more we realise we all have a part to play in getting us back on track.

If anyone of us does not talk, then the system breaks down. Ask questions here if you don't know or have no one to talk to or discuss issues, this is how a history of Disability ailments are listed. Whether its what do I do if……. or I just had a result from an assessments and it says………. am I entitled to ………. if I have ……….. what is the process? where do I start. There are always more questions than answers, as the song goes, but if something you need to ask is bugging you, then ask.

ALL, decisions are revisited, and all decisions are reviewed, not all decisions are overturned without a change of circumstances. If you suddenly have another "episode" that keeps you doing what you would normally do, in work or at home, that is a change of circumstances, they don't just apply to working people.

Some are disabled 24/7, some are sick 24/7, some can be fixed some can't, don't mix, able bodied working age, people who are stagnent on the dole with people who would love to work, with people that can't work without adptions to the work place, (including home working) and are registered as disabled or on long term sick, and requiremore time to heal, and are being told to go back to work too early, causing further periods on the sick.

thank you so much for the replies…. very much appreciate it!

I was given a 10 year award which was on my award letter to be reviewed in 2027 unless a change in circumstances.

As per my request for the original PA4 report from the F2F assessment and DM notes (I asked for this as I never got it) I just noticed that in 2021 from the PA4 report that it changed over to another CM or DM I'm confused with both, as I only had a cocs in the fact I moved in 2022 which was after the change occurred in 2021 I still get the same award granted in 2017 which has been ongoing for 10 years I will likely be reviewed next year.

I just thought it was something to mention as there hadn't been any input until I moved address in 2022 which I wrote a letter to them.

I'm glad I did get the report as the assessors/ nurse recommendations were all noted and they told the truth of what occurred at my appointment with them in 2017 all observations and communications, all take note and I was glad that it was this given I was already awarded indefinite DLA by tribunal then upon the changes from DLA to PIP forms filling evidence I had a long F2F with the nurse, in 2017, I hope my review is soon with the changes coming I guess and maybe reading too much into it?

Thank you again for your help it's appreciated!
